I have been wanting to get a new hair style for quite a while. Now that I am fixing to start a new career in the beauty industry I really need to get a new style. I have some ideas about what I like and what looks good on me, but I can be so indecisive. So, I need some help making a final decision.

I love everything about this cut, but not sure I'm ready to go this short.

I love the length of this cut, but I hate how the layers frame the the face. I like the bangs.

I love the sides and cut of the bottom, but I don't like how short the bangs are. Again, not sure if I want to go this short.

I love the bangs and the color.

I love everything about this style. Love the color.

How To Turn Your Bathroom Into A Spa

I had a looong week at Aveda this past week. We attend school from Tuesday through Saturday. It's five days a week, which is fine, but starting the week on Tuesday instead of Monday has totally threw me off balance. So Sunday night I treated myself to the best at home spa experience ever. Here's how I did it...

Things you will need:
CD player
Relaxing CD
Lots of Candles
Lighter
Body Lotion
Large Pillow
Favorite Bath Salts, Bath Oil, Bubble Bath, Body Wash, Body Scrub, Body Lotion, Face Mask
Shaving Lotion & Razor
Pumise Stone
Favorite Relaxing Essential Oil (Cedar, Chamomile, Frankincense, Jasmine, Lavender, Marjoram)
Piece of Terry Cloth (I use an old wash cloth I cut into pieces)
3 Towels, Robe, Underwear, PJ's, Cotton Socks
Plastic Tote w/ Lid
Chamomile Tea & Favorite Tea Cup
Your HG Facial Cleanser, Exfoliant, Toner, Treatment, Eye Cream, Night Cream
Clarisonic Brush or Hand Held Round Facial Brush

You really need to prepare your bathroom:

Start off with a clean bathroom. If your tub is needing attention do that first.

Bring in a portable CD player w/ your favorite spa music. My favorite CD is Musical Massage, it's a 3 disc set.

Set up your candles all around the room. The more the better. Don't light them just yet.

Make sure the lid is down on the toilet. We will use this as a place to sit and apply our favorite body lotion. Place your favorite body lotion on the back of the toilet.

Place a large pillow on the floor, and place 2 or 3 candles around it. This will be a place for us to meditate and relax before we get in the tub.

Gather up any of your favorite bath salts, bath oils, bubble bath, and body wash and put them around the tub.

Get three fluffy towels, pj's, cotton socks, and robe. Put them in the dryer on high heat for about 15 min. If you have a favorite calming essential oil (cedar, chamomile, frankincense, jasmine, lavender, marjoram) dab a bit onto a piece of terry cloth and throw it in the dryer with your towels and clothes. Aromatherapy at it's best.

Have a plastic tote with a lid handy to put the towels, pj's, cotton socks, robe, and cotton ball w/ essential oil directly in after you get them out of the dryer. The sealed tote will help keep the heat and lovely smell in through out your bath.

Start your bath water. Make sure the water is warm enough, but not so hot that you are uncomfortable and can't wait to get out.

Make yourself a cup of hot chamomile tea and set it by the bathtub.

When your bath water is done, light the candles, pour in bath salts/bath oil, and turn on the music. Don't forget to press repeat on your CD.

Go get your towels and clothes out of the dryer, quickly fold the towels and put them in the tote. You may want to add more of the essential oil to the terry cloth piece and put it into tote.

Place your tote near your bath tub.

Lock the door to your bathroom and turn the lights off. No interruptions!

Relaxation Time:

Undress and put your warm robe on.

Apply your favorite face mask. I love the Queen Helen Mint Julep Mask.

Sit which ever way is comfortable on the pillow and take some slow deep breaths. Try to clear your mind and focus on your breathing. I do this for about 10-15 minutes.

Take off your robe. If you like to use a body scrub. Now's the time to do it. Go ahead and scrub up before you get in the tub. Applying the scrub to dry skin helps it to exfoliate better.

Go ahead and get in the bathtub. If you used a bath oil and/or body scrub prior, be very careful getting in. The bath oil and/or body scrub will make your feet ultra slippery.

Lay back and relax. Sip your tea and enjoy the atmosphere you created for yourself. Take deep breaths and take your time.

When you are ready go ahead and wash up. Don't forget to shave those legs. Nothing feels better than getting in bed with silky smooth legs.

Sit on the side of the tub and take care of your feet. I like to use a pumice stone to remove any dead skin.

Time to get out. Take the lid off your tote and rap up in one of your yummy warm towels.

Grab your cotton socks.

Place another of the warm towels on the toilet lid.

Have a seat and grab the lotion off the back of the toilet and slather up. Don't forget your feet.

Put on your cotton socks.

Rap up in your robe.

Remove your face mask at the sink.

Continue with your nightly face routine. I love to bring out the micro-derm abrasion for a special treat. Don't forget when you are doing your face, what ever treatments and moisturizers you use on your face you should also use on your neck, chest, and hands. These areas age the fastest and have the same skin thickness.

Put on your warm pj's and blow out your candles.

Head straight for the bed.

Get ready for the best rest you've had in months.

Wet n' Wild Comfort Zone 8 Color Palette- Review, Dupes & Swatches

Ladies, I am absolutely blown away with this palette. I cannot believe that I purchased such high quality eye shadows from Walgreen’s for $5. Every single eye shadow in this palette has the most highly pigmented color pay off with a buttery soft texture. The color that you see in the pan is exactly what you see when you apply it on your eyes. The soft texture makes blending effortless. This palette truly amazes me. It makes me wonder why more expensive brands are lacking this type of quality while their eye shadows cost 3 times as much, or more.

The Comfort Zone Palette contains 4 warm neutral tones on the left side, varying from a warm cream to a bronzed black. The 1^st shade on the left is a frosted golden cream shade. The 2^nd shade on the left is a frosted medium toned warm golden bronze. The 3^rd shade on the left is a medium frosted bronzed brown shade. The 4^th shade on the left is black with bronze shimmer. The first 3 shades on the left remind me of a MAC Veluxe Pearl texture and MAC Frost finish. The 4^th shade on the left reminds me of a MAC Veluxe Pearl texture with a MAC Style Black (Cinderfella, Guilt by Association, Blue Flame, & Young Punk) type finish, but with better color payoff and less glitter fallout.

Then on the right side you have 3 various warm shades that coordinate with the beautiful medium toned frosted sage green shade. The 1^st shade on the right is a medium toned frosted taupe with brown undertones. The 2^nd shade on the right is a medium toned frosted sage green. The 3^rd shade on the right is a black with gold shimmer. The 4^th shade on the right is a warm medium brown with green duo chrome. The 1^st, 2^nd, and 4^th shades on the right remind me of a MAC Veluxe Pearl texture and a MAC Frost finish. The 3^rd shade on the right reminds me of a MAC Veluxe Pearl texture, but with MAC’s Guilt by Association finish, but softer texture and a more pigmented black.

Now on to the dupes…Some of these shades are exact dupes for some MAC shades. However, not all of them are exactly the same variation of the shade, but I promise once you apply it and finish your eye look no one will be able to tell the difference.

#4- There wasn’t a bronze shade in the MAC Style Black collection, but this would have been it.

Now that I have bragged and bragged about this palette until you probably can't stand it anymore. Let me tell you the single thing about this palette that is slightly disappointing me. There are no matte shades in this palette. This palette is not totally inclusive of all the shades I would need for travel. I feel the exact same way about the Naked Palette by Urban Decay. With both of these palettes, I would still need a matte highlight shade and a matte dark brown or black for my crease and outer V. However, I do realize not everyone likes to do their makeup exactly like I do mine. So, if you you love a totally shimmery eye look or your like me, and don't mind packing an extra single quad for your matte shades the Comfort Zone palette is still a great drugstore find for travel.

Just a note for you, if you decide to purchase the Comfort Zone palette as well as the I’m Getting Sunburned Trio you will have two of the same single eye shadow colors. The 4^th shade on the left of the Comfort Zone palette is the same shade as the 2^nd shade in the I’m Getting Sunburned Trio.

Life Journal Vlog: A New Chapter Of My Life....

As you all know I will be starting my esthiology training at Aveda Institute tomorrow. I'm very excited to being this new chapter of my life. My life has been so rewarding so far. I have so much to be proud of. I have a wonderful husband, a fulfilling marriage, and two beautiful children, to which I have dedicated the past 10 years to. I put my career on hold so that I could focus all of my attention on my family. Do I regret it? Not in a million years. Without them I could never as happy as I am today. They are everything to me. I would do it all over again in a second. There is nothing more important to me, so I saw no reason not to solely focus on them. Just as much as I have given to them, I have received back 10 times more. It fills my heart to see my children happy and growing and learning, and everyday becoming more intelligent, loving, and mature. Then to look at my husband, and even though years have past, we both still get butterflies in your stomach when he comes home from work. There is nothing in the world like this.

To make a long story short, I feel that my life is just about whole. The only exception is the way I feel about myself on the level of personal success. I married very young so since then I was known as Jeff's wife. Much later my first child was born, then I was known as Blaine's mom. Then along came my daughter, then I was know as Jillian's mom. What I'm trying to say is, it has been to long since anyone associated me with being an individual. Just being myself. It may seem selfish to some but, I want something to be proud of that is just about me.

This is were my esthiology training comes in. As everyone already knows I love everything about the beauty industry. It's more than an enjoyment or hobby to me. It's a love and a passion. Beauty is what makes me happy. Not only just products and potions, but anything beautiful whether it be a beautiful person, flower, or a beautiful smell. It all brings me happiness and uplifts my spirits. As an esthiologist I will be surrounding myself with these things everyday. Esthiology is meant for me.

So my Life Journal Vlogs will be about my journey to find my individual happiness, and all the wonderful things I learn at Aveda about what it is to be an Esthiologist. Please feel free to comment on anything you read. I learn well from others and would love to hear what you think.

The Mother of All Eyeshadow Hauls!!! 13 Wet n' Wild Palettes

OMG! Everyone I went a little crazy today. I was feeling really sad with Jeff being out of town with work, and I had such a stressful day yesterday and today. So I decided to indulge in a little eyeshadow therapy. Thank goodness the nearest MAC counter is 45 miles from my house. Instead of taking a long drive, I went to down the street to Walgreen's to pick up a couple of the new Wet n' Wild eight palettes. As I was picking up the palettes I just happened to glance up the display, and to my astonishment there were more new trios!! I should have known better than to make up shop in my mood. When the damage was done I walked out with 5 trios, 2 eight palettes, and 1 six palette. Yes, that is 37 eye shadows. What can I say...? I was in a real rut. However, the amazing part is I got them all for about $30 bucks. You can't beat that with a stick. Imagine if I would have bought 37 MAC shadows...let's just say my hubby would've had to stay out of town for a couple more days to pay that bill. Anyways, I rushed home to play with my new items, and of course share them with all of you.

I will be reviewing each of the palettes I purchased on my haul. Plus, I already have a few I had purchased a while ago that I will be reviewing as well. I am going to post each of the reviews separately by palette name just for the sake of keeping it organized. Detailed reviews of each shade in the palette including swatches, and MAC dupes of each eyeshadow can be found by clicking the picture titles below. I will post a review of one of the palettes everyday for the next 13 days. So take a look at my goodies and please let me know what you think.

By the way, just to let you know, eye shadow therapy doesn't always work. You may still feel bad, but you will have some great eye shadow shades. Then when your mood brightens and you actually feel like wearing makeup, imagine the killer I looks you can create. lol : P

China Glaze Shower Together Nail Polish Review & NOTD

I've had this polish for quite sometime now and for some reason I've never used it. I guess that is just what happens when you have to many shades to choose from. Last week the gloomy, cold weather was just getting to me. I felt as yucky as it looked outside, so I decided I needed a pick me up. I took a look at my lovely display of nail polishes and instantly chose China Glaze Shower Together. After all the filing and grooming I applied 1 coat of this polish. The polish went on very easy. The formula is not too thick or thin, and applies without a brush stroke in sight. However, one coat of this polish is quite enough and it doesn't show up completely opaque. That's no bother to me, I'm a two coat kind of girl anyways. I feel no matter how great the polish looks with just one coat I must add a second coat just to be sure I get the max out of my application. So, I applied a second and it looked wonderful. I applied one coat of Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat which I swear by, and I was all done. Shower Together definitely did the trick for my mood as well. The shade is simply gorgeous. I would describe it as gray based teal blue color with a high shine cream finish. It's fun and modern, but still a sophisticated kind of shade.

3 Days Into My China Glaze Shower Together Mani-
I am totally impressed with this polish now. The lasting power is great. I feel that you should be able to get at least three days of wear out of any nail polish or it's not worth the money or your time and effort. I've been wearing it for 3 days now and I have only one itty bitty chip on my index finger which only happened when I rammed my finger into my cabinet door. The rest of my nails are still nice and neat. The shade is gorgeous. The formula is great on application and for lasting power. This polish is a keeper and I will be wearing this shade again.

OMG! Did you see Mila Kunis' Cover on Cosmo!! Gorgie! Tutorial

As always, I am absolutely in love with Mila Kunis' makeup from the cover of Cosmo for the month of February. I am not a regular subscriber of Cosmo, but when I saw it on the shelf I was in awe. I snatch the mag up so fast it would make your head spin. lol. As soon as I got it home I started playing around with my make up so that I could recreate the look. I think I've got a pretty good version to share with you. All products are MAC unless stated otherwise. Color descriptions are in the first set of parenthesis and the dupes for the Coastal Scents Warm Palette are in the second set of parenthesis. Here is what I came up with...

226- Apply Restless into crease using windshield wiper motions while keeping your eyes open. Start from the outer crease and apply all the way into the inner crease.

(warm brownish/gray) (Coastal Scents Warm Plt.: 1 Row Down/ 10 Row Over- from L to R)

· 239- Apply Grain all over the inner ½ of the lid, up to the Restless.

(warm, light, slightly pinked, natural beige) (C. S. W. Plt.: 2 Row Down/

9 Row Over)

· 239- Apply Satin Taupe on outer ½ of the lid, up to the Restless. Wiggle the brush in side to side motions on top of the line of separation of the 2 shades to blend the colors together a bit.

(warm, slightly plumish, taupe/brown) (C. S. W. Plt.: 6 Row Down/

9 Row Over)

· 219- Apply Carbon on the outer V. Starting at the Lower Lash Line (LLL), and bring the color up slightly over lapping the Restless slightly in the crease, 1/4 of the way into crease only. This should create a slight cat eye effect.

(matte black) (C. S. W. Plt.: 7 Row Down/ 11 Row Over)

· 217- Apply Soft Brown above Restless on top of the socket bone. The Soft Brown should slightly touch the Restless and Carbon only to blend out any harsh lines left behind from the Carbon and Restless.

(light natural warm brown) (C. S. W. Plt.: 3 Row Down/ 7 Row Over)

· 275- Apply Shroom under brows as a highlight. Blend Shroom out all the way down to the Soft Brown. You may use any highlight shade you like, but the shade should not be too matte or too frosty. I would definitely choose a satin shade for this look. (C. S. W. Plt.: 1 Row Down/ 5 Row Over)

· 219- Apply Nylon on the Lower Inner Tear Duct area. Any light shimmery shade will do. (C. S. W. Plt.: 3 Row Down/ 4 Row Over)

266- Apply Wet n’ Wild Black Gel Eyeliner on Upper Lash Line (ULL) start at the inner tear duct and create a thicker line than you usually would wear, add a slight wing at the corners.

· 266- Apply Wet n’ Wild Black Gel Eyeliner on Lower Water Line (LWL) going all the way into the inner tear duct area.

· 266- Apply Carbon on the LLL from the outside corner of the lashes up to the point where the lashes stop. Blend the Carbon into the lash line, so that you cannot see any flesh between the black on the water line between the Carbon on the LLL. (C. S. W. Plt.: 7 Row Down/ 11 Row Over)

· 219- Apply Swiss Chocolate on the LLL slightly over lapping the Carbon from the outside corner of the lashes all the way into the inner tear duct area.

(C. S. W. Plt.: 5 Row Down/ 10 Row Over)

· 1 coat of MAC Zoom Lash and 2 coats of L’oreal Voluminous. A set of very natural looking lashes would look great. A set of corner lashes would look even better.

· Apply foundation- I used NARS Sheer Glow and the Sigma F80/Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki to apply mine.

· Apply concealer- I used a Sigma’s version of the 224 and Benefit’s Erase-A-Paste Concealer in light.

· Apply a matte bronzer under cheek bones as a contour. Also, bronze the temple & jaw line a bit as well, using the “3 application technique”. This is to start at the jaw line and swoop your brush up in a half circle motion up to the temple. Then repeat at the jaw line and swoop your brush down in a half circle motion down on the jaw line. I used my Mark Bronzer.

· Apply Peaches Blush only to the cheek bones. For this look you will need to leave the apples bare. The center parts of the face and under the eyes need to be very naturally light looking. Any warm peach blush will do.

· Apply a nude lip liner

· Apply a peachy nude lipstick. I used Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Spotlight Beige.

I always suggest applying your foundation after you do your eye when using darker shades. This way the fall out doesn't ruin the look of your foundation.

I hope you enjoyed it, and will play around with it. I plan on wearing this look tomorrow for a special outing with my hubby. We will be celebrating our Valentine's Day tomorrow instead of on the 14th because he will be out of town working then.

Make Up For Ever Rock For Ever Mini Aqua Eyes Eyeliner Pencil Set- ♥♥♥♥♥

As you may have already read in my Favorite Products of 2010 post, I am a huge fan of MUFE Aqua Eyes Eyeliner Pencils. Yes, I prefer the MUFE Aqua Eyes Pencils over the UD 24/7 Eye Pencils, but only for the staying power on my water line. The UD 24/7 pencils are a great choice as well, but for the hot summers here the MUFE pencils are the only ones that will last without running under my lower lash line and turning my gorgeous eye look in to a raccoon eye. So, for me I just stick with the MUFE pencils year round so I don't have un-necessary products floating around.

So, the pencils in the set work just as well as the full size ones of course. The only difference in the set is the size of the pencils and the various shades. The set includes a silver, gold, bronze, steel gray, and a black eye liner. All of the pencils are about 3 inches long which I think is great for travel. The first thing I did when I got the set in was to take the black one out of the set and put it into my cosmetic bag in my purse. It's great for the times when you need a little touch up. I purchased the set for $26 US from Sephora which I think is a really good price being that 2 of the full size pencils would cost $34 US. Plus this set has the most adorable packaging ever. I'm a bit of a rocker at heart. So, the matte black rocker style tin box that is included is right up my alley. I will definitely be keeping this container to store other items in even after my pencils are all used up. This is a great quality product that is well worth the money.

Gosh, I did great on my small Sephora haul. I love both of the products I bought. The NARS Sheer Glow is just as amazing as everyone says it is and you can never go wrong with the MUFE Aqua Eyes Eyeliner Pencils and these are just so cute. These are great products that I will continue to purchase. Plus there's nothing better than getting it all from a store credit or GC. It kind of makes you feel like you got you stuff for free even though you already paid for it before. lol : P

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation Review- Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥

Everyone has been raving about this foundation for what seems like forever. I was reluctant to get it because I thought that there was no way the foundation could ever live up to all the hype around it. So, after thinking about it for a while I went ahead and purchased it with my Sephora on-line credit that I had been saving up. I purchased the shade Fiji for my NC25/MUFE HD #125 skin tone. Fiji is a pretty good match, a tad on the light side, but not bad at all. It's a shade that will suit me fine for the winter, but would be way to light for the summer months. Which is fine, because I think that the Sheer Glow formula will only work on me when the air is dryer. I think it maybe a little to moisturizing for the summer months. It just seems that in the hot humidity it could be a real grease ball. Which brings me to another point. I have normal to slightly dry skin on my face and this foundation works great for my skin type. However, I would be very careful with this stuff if you have oily skin. I could see this turning your face into an oil slick. As far as my skin and my experience with NARS Sheer Glow this is the best winter foundation I could ask for. I wouldn't call it a full coverage foundation. It's what I would describe as a medium coverage foundation. It covers minor skin imperfections such as redness, fine lines, and slight pores. It blends into the skin, giving a naturally flawless look without looking cakey, which I love. The finish is not really a glowy or dewy finish which is kind of what I expected since it is called Sheer Glow. The finish is more of an in-between finish. It's not really a dewy or matte finish. It's more of a natural looking satiny finish. Definitely, what I would call my skin but better.

The price of the NARS Sheer Glow is pretty normal for a high end brand of foundation. I paid $42 US for 1 oz. of this foundation at Sephora. Sephora also sells 1 oz. of Make Up For Ever HD foundation for $40 US. So the high price point was really no surprise, and I do feel like the product is worth the money. I feel if there is only one product that you should splurge on it should be on foundation. Your foundation is what the rest of your makeup goes on top of so if your foundation starts out looking crapy so will your entire look. However, not always is it necessary to buy an expensive foundation to get a good one. My beloved Revlon Colorstay is a wonderful foundation for the bargain price of $9 US, but it is a totally different formula than the NARS Sheer Glow, and is not what I would consider a good foundation for the winter if you need a more moisturizing foundation. Revlon CS can be a little to drying on my skin in the cooler months when I need a slightly moisturizing formula. This is the main reason why I always prefer to have different foundations for the summer and for the winter. Just as I have to adjust my skincare needs as the seasons change I have to do the same for my foundation needs as well. So, NARS Sheer Glow is now my favorite winter foundation. I guess sometimes products can live up to the hype.

MAC Wonder Woman Collection

MAC and DC Comic's are teaming up to bring my favorite super hero to our vanities and MAC collections...*booming announcer voice* "the one, the only Wonder Woman!" The collection is set to release Feb. 10 in the US and March ?, 2011 international.

After searching and waiting for what seems like an eternity I've finally found a color story for this collection. I am pretty impressed with the collection as a whole.

I think that MAC and DC comics did an awesome job with the packaging. I do get a retro vibe from the design, which I think is to be expected since WW is originally from that era. The packaging is still in a comic-ish design, but not so immature that you would be embarrassed to pull it out of your purse in front of people. I think it would actually be a great conversation starter, people would definitely ask about it. Also, it looks like we are going to get mirrors in our blushes and MSF compacts, which is another great thing. I will be getting one of the blush duos and depotting the blush so that I can use different blushes in it. This is also a pretty colorful collection which I think is nice change.

Although, I am a little disappointed that they are promoting the regular line Russian Red lipstick as Wonder Woman's red lipstick. I just expected more out of this single product since it is pretty much WW's signature makeup product. When I think of WW I automatically think of that beautiful shade of red lipstick. Russian Red is a pretty enough shade but, I was expecting an extraordinary shade, and I was hoping it would be a lustre shade. However, they brought it home with the red gloss/ Wonder Woman. It's absolutely gorgeous!! Also, the Lady Justice/ blue eyeshadow palette is a let down as well. There definitely needed to be a blue eyeshadow palette, but I'm so dang sick of Deep Truth. It seems every time MAC releases a blue toned palette they throw Deep Truth in it. It will be a pass for me just because I have 2 Deep Truth eyeshadows already. But, on a good note, they are repromoting Marquise D' lipstick which is a lovely nude toned lustre shade that was last released with Blonde Brunette Redhead. I can't wait to get it.

My favorite eye look ever! Mila Kunis 2008 VH1 Rock Honor Awards

I know that this is quite an old picture of Mila Kunis, but this is my all time favorite eye look. I think that this is a great basic look, not too bold, but still sultry and beautiful. This is a look that you can use the same techniques and just change up the eye shadow shades, and it would look fantastic. In every picture I've seen of Mila her makeup is gorgeous. Since I love this one so much I thought that I would do a written tutorial for everyone to get an idea of how to do it. I know that a written tutorial can be a little hard to follow, but I really am not into doing videos at all. So, I hope you like it, and if you have any questions please just ask I will be happy to explain it more or answer any questions you may have. Things You Will Need:

Urban Decay- Primer Potion or any eye shadow primer
Wet n' Wild- Nutty Eye Shadow Single
Wet n' Wild- Knock On Wood Eye Shadow Trio (3rd shade on bottom) or MAC Cranberry Eye Shadow
MAC- Shale Eye Shadow
MAC- Satin Taupe Eye Shadow
Make Up For Ever- Aqua Eye Pencil in Black
L'oreal- Voluminous Mascara
Mark Bronze Pro Bronzing Powder or any matte bronzer
MAC- So Ceylon MSF or any bronze/rose toned blush
Rimmel- Moisture Renew Lipstick in Summer Angel
Sigma 224 Brush
MAC 239 Brush
MAC 272 Brush
Sigma 217 Brush
Sigma 212 Brush
Sigma 214 Brush

1. Prep lid and lower lash line with eye shadow primer (UD Primer Potion).

2. 224- Apply MAC Cranberry or (Wet n' Wild Knock on Wood Trio 3rd shade on bottom) on the outer 3/4 of crease and on brow bone using circular motions. Don't go all the way up to the eye brow.

3. 239- Apply Wet n' Wild Nutty Eye Shadow mixed with MAC Shale Eye Shadow all over inner 3/4 of lid up to the crease, where the Cranberry shade begins. Dip your brush into the Shale shadow first, then into the Nutty shadow.

4. 272- Apply MAC Satin Taupe on the outer 1/4 of lid (outer V) and blend slightly into the crease.

5. 217- Blend out any harsh lines

6. 217- Apply Wet n' Wild Nutty mixed with MAC Shale on lower lash line.

7. 219- Apply MAC Satin Taupe on lower lash line on top of Shale & Nutty.

8. Using MUFE Aqua Eyes Pencil Eye Liner- Tight line the upper water line, line lower water line, and line
very thinly on the outer 3/4 of the upper lash line.

9. 214- Smudge the line on the upper lash line using back and forth motions until the line has almost disappeared.

10. 212- Use this to drag some of the liner that is on the lower water line in between the lashes. You're just doing this to blend the harsh line out a bit. You don't want to line the lower lash line and you don't want to remove it all off of the lower water line. You just want to blend it into the lower lashes a bit. Doing it this way helps to achieve a smokey look.

11. Apply 2 coats of L'oreal Voluminous Mascara

12. 109- Use a matte bronzer to contour cheek bones. I used Mark by Avon

13. 168- Apply MAC So Ceylon Mineralize Skinfinish on the apples of the cheeks. Any bronzey rose blush will do the trick if you don't have So Ceylon.

14. Apply Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Summer Angel or any frosty nude pinkish shade.

My Final Review on Sigma Professional and Complete Brush Kits & A funny coincidence...or was it??? : D

I've had both of my brush sets for quite a long time now, I believe almost a year, and I feel the need to elaborate on my initial review of them. As we all know, the more you use a product the more opinions you have of it. With time the bad qualities show their ugly faces, and the good qualities become better. I would like to share the good, the bad, and the ugly with you. lol : D

I also wanted to share something I found extremely funny with you guys. In My Initial Review & Update I wrote a nice little "rant" note to Sigma for not selling their brushes individually. I let them know that their potential costumers, including myself, were taking there business else where in order to purchase their favorite Sigma brushes individually. I let them know how dumb of a business decision I thought this was, to allow other companies/people to make a profit off of Sigma's products simply by splitting up their sets and selling them at a more profitable price.

Well well, I think enough of us ranted about this situation, and Sigma was definitely listening and reading all of our complains on this matter. Mostly, I think that they realized what dumb asses they were being to allow their profits to go to other sellers simply because their company wasn't supplying their costumers with what they wanted. Now, Sigma offers both face and eye brushes that can be purchased individually! *sarcasm* Great idea Sigma! lol!

Now for my updated review...I'm going to make this a painless as possible. Over the past several months of using my brushes, I have figured out that Sigma brushes are basically hit or miss. Some being fantastic, while others need to find their way to the nearest trash can, and others are un-necessary when you buy the sets, especially if you are just looking for essential brushes. So, that's how we're going to do this, I'm going to break them down in to categories for you and give you an updated review on each one.

Fantastic Sigma Brushes
F80 Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki (SS197)- The best flat top kabuki brush I have ever used to apply liquid foundation. It also works very nicely to apply a pressed powder foundation. I always use this brush in a swirling motion all over my face. It gives great coverage with a flawless finish.

F70 Concealer (SS194)- Thankfully, I personally don't have to use this brush very often. But, it works great when I need to apply concealer to any blemishes I may have.

F05 Small Contour (SS109)- I wanted a 109 brush to apply liquid foundation with. After hearing all of the complaints about the MAC109 brush shedding so badly after using it with liquid foundation (it wasn't made for liquid products). I decided not to spend the extra money on MAC and just to pick up a F05 (SS109), that way if the brush started to shed I wouldn't be out so much money. I'm glad I did because my F05 (SS109) has not given me any trouble with shedding and works great for applying my liquid foundations.

F40 Large Angled Contour (SS168)- Some say that the SS168 is not as good as the MAC168 because the F40 (SS168) is not quite as dense. I never really noticed a difference myself. After I closely examined the brushes side by side I could see that the F40 (SS168) is slightly less dense, but I still think that the F40 (SS168) is just as good. The F40 (SS168) gives the same results as the MAC168. It applies and blends all of my powder blushes very well without being blotchy or streaky. I have also used it for contouring the cheek bones and it works fine for that as well.

F20 Large Powder (w/ Sort Handle) (SS134)- I don't use this type of powder brush that often, but if you are looking for a "paddle" type powder brush I think this one is the best choice. This brush applies nicely and gives a even finish, and is soo soft. However, I do think that the MAC134 maybe just ever so slightly denser. This does not effect the result of the application. So, I chose the Sigma one because the price is right.

F30 Large Powder (w/ Long Handle) (SS150)- My opinion of this brush is exactly the same as for the F20 (SS134). It's slightly less dense than the MAC150, but is still a great brush for the price. However, I don't think that you need both the F20 (SS134) and F30 (SS150). It just depends if you prefer the shorter or longer handle. So, the choice is yours.

E25 Blending (white hair) (SS217)- This is a fantastic brush and I recommend getting more than one of these brushes. In one single eye look I can easily use two or three of these brushes, simply because I need a clean one, as well as for all of the tasks I use it for. I use this brush for crease application, outer V work, and blending. This is truly a multi-tasker, and the E25 (SS217) is every bit as good as the MAC217. I've actually experienced less splaying with my E25 (SS217) than the MAC217.

E40 Tapered Blending (rounded w/ black hairs) (SS224)- This is another fantastic multi-tasker that you will need to buy more than one of. I use this brush for blending out harsh edges of my eye shadow, applying concealer, application of my setting powder on top of my concealer, and I have even used this brush to highlight the bridge of my nose and cheek bones. I've also used it to contour the sides of my nose with. I do see a very slight difference in the density of this brush compared to the MAC224, but it does not effect the application in any way.

E60 Large Shader (SS252)- I love this shader brush. I use it for placement of my eye shadows and pigments. I'm not going to compare it to MAC because the design is totally different. They are both wonderful brushes.

E65 Small Angle (SS266)- A must have for gel/cream eye liner application. It makes winged eye liner a breeze. I also use this one to shade in my brows a bit. This is another brush that I bought more than one of.

F25 Tapered Face (SS138)- I wasn't sure what category to put this brush in. It is trashy for sculpting. Because again, the Sigma tapered brushes are poorly cut. However, I did find a good use for this brush. I really like it to apply my setting powder with. I actually prefer it for powder application over all of my other powder brushes. I like to only powder my T-zone and leave the rest of my face with a nice natural glow. This brush is ever so slightly tapered and is narrower than any of my other "paddle" type powder brushes, so it is easier to use the F25 (SS138) to apply powder.

Trashy Sigma Brushes
E30 Pencil (SS219)- This is by far the crappiest brush of the entire collection. Sorry to be so blunt, but I really just threw this brush in the trash. It was that bad. The cut of this brush is horrible. I don't see how anyone could ever use this brush for it's intended purpose because the brush is not cut precisely enough to use it to apply a nice neat line of shadow under the lower lash line. It creates a large thick smear of color. Even after I gave this brush a much needed hair cut to better define the fibers and make it more precise. I still thew it away. You really can't turn a pile of crap into a pot of gold. lol : D

E45 Small Tapered Blending (SS226)- I have the same problem with this brush as I do with the SS219. The cut of this brush is not to hot. It's not quite as bad as the SS219, but still it's not what I would call a good brush.

E35 Tapered Blending (tapered w/ white hairs) (SS222)- Same thing with this brush. The cut is just not as precise as it should be. The brush can still be used successfully to achieve good results, but you really have to take your time and work with the E35 (SS222). The MAC222 is much better and takes less effort to get great results.

E05 Eye Liner (SS209)- This thing is to fat. It's like if you were using one of those fat Crayola Markers to apply your eye liner instead of a sharp pencil. The MAC209 is a better choice and allows for a more precise application, because it is thinner and the hairs are denser and stay together better.

F35 Tapered Highlighter (SS165)- Same old song and dance. Sigma's tapered brushes are poorly cut, and can't be used to precisely apply anything. The MAC165 is just so much better. I even tried to use this one like I use my F05 (SS109) and apply foundation with it so that it wouldn't be a total waste, but then the hairs started shedding like crazy. It's junk.

F15 Duo Fiber Powder/Blush (SS131)- Horrible. I was wanting this brush to be good so badly, because I missed out on the MAC131 when it was released, but this was a disappointment. I have mentioned that some of the other Sigma brushes were slightly less dense than the MAC brushes, but it did not affect the great outcome of the application. This is not the case with the F15 (SS131), the hairs on this brush are way to sparse. The application is horrible, streaky, and uneven. I also got a significant amount of bleeding from this brush when I washed it. If you can get a hold of the MAC131 get it. If you can't the MAC188 or MAC187 will do the same job as far as blush application goes, it just depends if you would rather the small or the large size.

F50 Duo Fiber (SS187)- This brush maybe slightly less dense than the MAC187. I compared to see and honestly I can't see the difference. Even if it is less dense it has no effect on the application. The application is great with this brush. I use it to stipple my liquid foundation and I have always gotten flawless results. The reason why I gave this brush away and went back to my MAC187 is because the damn thing sheds so much. Just when you think it has stopped it starts shedding again. I hated having to pick of all those little hairs off my face.

F60 Foundation (SS191)- I have never liked this brush by any company. I find that when used for foundation application it leaves streaks and gives an uneven application. If you would like a "paddle" type foundation brush I suggest the MAC189.

Brushes I Just Don't Think are Necessary
E50 Large Fluff (SS227)- This brush is meant for applying a wash of color on the lid. I find it to be to large for my eyes, and my eyes are not small. I have used this brush for highlighting my cheek bones and it works fine, but I still say that it is an unnecessary brush being that you already get the F40 (SS168) which works fine for highlighting.

F65 Large Concealer (SS192)- I used to use this brush to apply my under eye concealer. I have started using the E40 (SS224) for this and it works sooo much better. It blends the concealer into the skin so much better. I have also used this brush in the past to apply my cream blush with. Now, I perfer the MAC188 for applying cream blush. It blends better and gives a more even application.

F75 Concealer (yellow hair, medium sized one) (SS195)- This brush can be used to apply concealer precisely, such as on a blemish on your face. I use the F70 (SS194) for this since it is smaller. You can also use the F75 (SS195) brush to apply under eye concealer with. I prefer the E40 (SS224) for this job. You may also use this brush to apply other cream products with such as paint pots or eye shadows bases. I would much rather use the E25 (SS217).

E70 Medium Angle Shading (SS275)- This is suggested to apply brow highlight shade, apply eyeshadow to inner corners, and for detailed outer V work. The only suggestion that worked for me was to use it to apply brow highlight shade. It works good for that, but so does just about every other eye brush, ex. E60 (SS252)or MAC239. The E70 (SS275) is way to large to apply eye shadow precisely to any eye area. I suggest the MAC272 or MAC226 for precise crease and outer V work, and the MAC219 to apply eyeshadow to the inner corner with.

E20 Short Shader (SS214)- They suggest this brush be used to densely apply eye shadow on the lid. The E60 (SS252) or MAC239 can be used for the same thing. They suggest this brush to also be used to apply and smudge eye shadow or eye liner on the lash lines. I think that the MAC219 is a better choice for doing this.

E10 Small Eye Liner (SS210)- I never use this brush. If you already have the MAC209 this one is not necessary it does the same job.

F10 Powder/Blush (SS129)- This is a good brush. I just rather use the F40 (SS168) or MAC116 to apply my blush with.

Sigma Brushes I Don't Have
F55 Small Duo Fiber (SS188)- I do not plan to buy this brush based on my opinion of the SS187 & SS131

F82- I'm going to give this one a try simply because I love the (SS197) F80 Flat Top Kabuki so much. I'm wondering how this would work for applying under eye concealer, and if it will replace my SS224 for concealer.

F84 Angled Top Sinthetic Kabuki- I can't wait to see how this will work to apply my cream blushes with.

F45 Buffer- I already have the MAC181, so I don't think I need it.

Hollywood Glamour Retractable Kabuki- I already have an Ecotools retractable kabuki that I rarely ever use, so what the point in buy another one.

Looks like I will be making a small Sigma Order soon : )

The bottom line is that the Sigma brushes that are tapered suck because they are poorly cut, and Sigma duo-fibers bleed and some are not as dense as they should be. I also think that when you buy brush sets you pay for brushes that you may not necessarily use. Remember you can now order the brushes individually and order multiples of your favorites.

I hope you enjoyed my new take on the Sigma Brushes. I was never really satisfied with my first review of them and it was kind of a difficult post for me to do. I really didn't know what I wanted to say about them. I think that it was because I hadn't used them long enough to really know how I felt about them. The facts were good, and really my opinion really didn't change that much. But, I just didn't feel confident about what I had written. I guess that happens to us bloggers from time to time. Now, I am happy with the information that I have put out here for you guys to see. I hope you enjoy reading it, and it helps you to decide which brushes to buy. I have been working endlessly on this huge post for you guys. I decided to do this so that everyone can see my tried and true favorite products and maybe try some out for yourselves. These would also be great in a nice little gift basket for Christmas. These are all items that I have repurchased over and over and have stood the test of time, and hung in there beyond the "New & Improved" products. I give all of these products a ♥♥♥♥♥ rating! So let's get started, this is going to be fun...

Benefit

Coralista Blush- This is a beautiful light coral shade that has great lasting power and would flatter most skin tones. You can purchase Benefit's Coralista Blush at Sephora for $28 US.

Powderflage- I use this as a setting & highlighting powder for my under eye concealer. It insures that your concealer will not crease or move around on the skin. I also use it as a highlight on the tops of my cheek bones. I don't use the brush that comes with it because I don't like how it distributes the product. I prefer using a fluffy blending brush, like the 224. I know that the packaging is small, but trust me this stuff is worth it. All you need is a tiny bit to get the job done. You can purchase Benefit's Powderflage at Sephora for $28 US.

Clinique

Brush on Cream Eye Liner- I'm usually not a fan of many Clinique makeup products. I find their pigmentation lacking, and their green packaging ummm, ugly. Sorry, I like it ALL to be pretty. However, this is the exception. I first found these gel/cream eyeliners at the CCO in Gulfport, MS. The SA actually suggested them to me. I purchased Bronze and Egyptian for I believe $10.25 ea. US. I can wear these all day no matter what the weather conditions and I never get raccoon eyes. They are easy to apply and don't dry up quickly at all. I've had mine for several months and they're still as good as new. These particular shades are discontinued now, but the regular line shades are just as good. There is Black Honey (black/brown) Deep Brown, True Black.You can purchase Clinique Brush on Cream Eye Liner at Sephora for $14.50 US.

MAC

Eyeshadows- I don't have certain favorite shades of eye shadows. It just depends on what I feel like wearing at the moment. That is what is so great about MAC eye shadows, variety! MAC eye shadows come in all sorts of shades and finishes. I will say this, be very careful when you purchase Lustre shades, some of them are all glitter and no color payoff, ex. Honeylust. However, some are pretty good, ex. Retrospeck. My advice, never buy a Lustre shade on-line unless you are sure of the texture and color payoff. If you see one you're interested in go to the store and swatch it first. You can purchase MAC eye shadows in pot form for $14.50 US and pan form for $11.00 US on the MAC web-site, in MAC Freestanding Stores, MAC Pro, or MAC counters in Dillard's.

Mineralize Skinfinishes- These are probably the most sought after and coveted MAC products, and for good reason. They are gorgeous! MAC carries a few of these on the regular line, but the most beautiful are always brought out as limited edition products. These can be used as a highlighter or as gorgeous blushes depending on the shade. My only grip is some can be overly glittery (Color Craft collection) so be careful of those if you don't care for glitter bombs. You can purchase Mineralize SkinFinishes on the MAC site for $ US. Keep a watch for the limited edition ones. You can purchase them here as well, but they go fast.

Paint Pots- I recently did a full review on 2 of my favorite paint pots, so I won't bore you. However, I must say, "No Creasing!" You can purchase Paint Pots on the MAC site for $16.50 ea. US.

Empty Quads & 15 Pro Pan Palettes- I love the new design for the quads with the clear lid. It makes organization so much easier. I had heard that the 15 palettes would be changed to the clear lid as well, but it doesn't seem like it will be any time soon if at all. I'm waiting until the new year and if they haven't changed by then I will be purchasing the new quads for all of my eyeshadows. The quads and 15 palettes are a great price for great quality.Quads are $5 US and 15 Pro Pans are $14 US you can purchase these on the MAC website.

MAC Brushes- 187, 188, 131, 165, 138, 209, 239, 226, 219, 222- Actually they are all great, but these are my favorite for the price. You can buy them on the MAC web-site. Prices depend on the brush.

Make Up For Ever

HD Invisible Coverage Foundation- You can see my full review here. Great coverage without wearing a mask. You can buy MUFE HD Foundation at Sephora for $40US.

Aqua Eyes Stay Put Eye Liner Pencils- Through the hottest summer months this liner didn't budge on my waterline. It's a keeper! These eye liners come in 25 different shades and are the best I've ever tried, and I've tried them all. You can buy the MUFE Aqua Eyes Stay Put Eye Liner Pencils at Sephora for $17 US.

NARS

Cream Blushes- As everyone knows I'm a bit of a beauty bargain hunter, and NARS blushes are imo not a beauty bargain, but the quality of these makes you kind of forget how much you are spending. If you have the extra to spare these are the best cream blushes I've ever tried. My favorite is NARS Cactus Flower. If you can only have one, this is the one. I would describe the shade as a watermelon pink with slight golden shimmer. The lasting power of this cream blusher is off the charts. Lasting all day long and not coming off until you clean your face. These blushes have a cream to silky powder finish, and will not be sticky to the touch, which is important to me.You can purchase NARS Cream Blushes at Sephora for $26 US. Urban Decay

Primer Potion- I use the regular formula and it always insures my eye shadow to stay put with no creasing. Just what I expected. You can get Urban Decay Primer Potion at Sephora for $29 US, this is for the large professional size in the tube. The origianal one with the wand is $18 US, but contains less product.

Now for my Drugstore favorites...These are products that I love and use everyday. These are just as good of quality as good Department store products, but just at a lower price. Who doesn't appreciate that??

Coastal Scents

88 Eye Shadow Palettes- My favorite is the Warm Palette. No matter what your choice is these are all great palettes. I think that these palettes are great for everyone, but I can see where these would be a must have for a makeup artist, since there are such a variety of shades. You can purchase several different palettes at Coastal Scents for any where from $16 US-$26 US. Which is a bargain considering all the different shades you get. Not to worry the texture and color payoff are wonderful.

Silica Spheres- This is the exact same product as MUFE HD Microfinish Powder. I have both products and have compared them. Same ingredients and same great results. The greatest thing is that the CS Silica Spheres is $4.95 US for 1 oz./28.53 grams. Where as, MUFE HD Microfinish Powder is $30 US for 0.35 oz./10 grams. That means you are getting almost 3 times the product for 1/6 of the price. Now that's a deal. Talk about paying for a name brand. Now, when you order the Silica Sphere it will be shipped to you in just a random plastic container with a screw top lid. So, you will want to also order a container with a sifter in it for your powder which you can also get from Coastal Scents. Take a look at the following entry for a recommendation for the sifter...

Cosmetics Containers- I am constantly ordering the 5 gram packing jars to store all of my pigment samples in. I purchase 1" round labels from the office supply store to write the product name on. I stick the label on the black lid so that I can store the pigments upside down so that I can see the actual color instead of the name on the label. I have also purchased the 30 gram Rotation Sifter Jar to store my Silica Spheres Powder. This jar is like the jar that BE uses for there powder foundation. It twists so that the product doesn't pour out. Smart idea. You can purchase these and other jars at Coastal Scents. They also come in different quantities this is just how I order mine. The 5 gram jar is $7.99 US per 25 jars and the 30 gram jar is $0.89 US for 1 jar.

La Femme

Blush on Rouge- Do you love the awesome pigmentation of NARS blushes?? Me too, but at $26 ea. US my collection contains very few. Not to worry, there is a cheaper alternative. The La Femme blushes are just as pigmented and last all day on the skin, the texture is nice and soft as well. They are everything that NARS blushes are for about a tenth of the price! This is a great find! Makeup Mania sells the Individual Pots for $3 US, or you can buy the Individual Pans for $2.50 US, or you can also head to the Palette Lab and create your own custom 12 pan blush palette for $35 US. OR you can do what I did and order the individual pans and then go on evil-bay and buy a better palette for about $10 US including shipping. The palettes that La Femme uses are cardboard and leaves more to be desired from the quality aspect. Doing it this way it will cost you about the same amount for 10 blushes instead of the original 12, but you get a much sturdier, higher quality palette. Either way it's a great bargain.

L'oreal

Voluminous Mascara- This is an amazing mascara that adds volume and length to my lashes while the deep black pigmentation makes each lash stand out. I've dabbled in all types of mascara and even thought I found new favorites, but each time I came back to this one. If you ask me mascara is a very personal preference item. Everyone wants something different from their mascara. Still, I recommend this one to everyone. I believe it to be one that you can't go wrong with.You can purchase this at any drugstore for less than $10 US.

NYX

10 Color Eye Shadow Palettes- I love these to keep in my purse, just in case I need a quick touch up. These are also great for travel, just pop these into your cosmetic case for great vacation eye looks. There a many different palettes to choose from. My favorites for travel are the Smokey, Champagne and Caviar, and the Versus palettes. They don't take up any room and by chance it happens to get broken you're only out about $8 ea. US. These eye shadows have great pigmentation and soft texture, so blending is a breeze. You can purchase these and other great ones at CherryCulture for $8 US or on the NYX website for $9.75 US. Watch both of these sites for great sales. Psst, I just saw that there are new ones to choose from.

Mega Shine Lip Gloss- One look at these and you will know why I don't usually buy lip glosses from MAC or any other company. These are gorgeous, moisturizing, and come in a variety of shades and finishes. The packaging is pretty too. You can buy these for $3.99 US at CherryCulture or $5.50 US at NYX. Again, watch for sales.

Revlon

ColorStay Liquid Foundation- I have been wearing this foundation for years. I used this foundation before I knew anything about MUFE, NARS, MAC, or any other pricier cosmetics. Now, even after using and loving other departments store foundations that are 3 to 4 times the price. ColorStay foundation is always in my regular rotation. This foundation is a must have for me in the summer months here in Louisiana. Most other foundations melt off my face with in an hour of leaving the house, this one stays on for the long haul. I've also noticed that ColorStay photographs pretty well and doesn't leave the white cast that flash photography can cause. Recently, I learned that the main culprit that causes the white cast in pics is usually due to a high amount of SPF included in a foundation, just a little FYI. With the SPF thing explained, I always buy 2 of these foundations. One for Normal/Dry Skin with a SPF of 15 to wear daily and the other for Oily/Combo Skin with a SPF of 6 to wear for photos. These foundations come in wide range of shades in each formula, so finding your match in this foundation is much easier than most other drugstore brand foundations.You can find Revlon ColorStay foundation at Walgreens, most other drugstores, super stores, and grocery stores.

Super Lustrous Lip Sticks- These lipsticks stay on pretty well, are moisturizing, and come in a slue of different shades and finishes. They are not drying and don't have a gross taste. Works for me...My favorite shade is Just Enough Buff. You can purchase these at just about any drugstore, Wal-Mart, Target, or you can order them on-line as well for about $6.99 US. Watch for Walgreens Buy 1 Get 1 50% off Sales.

Rimmel

Moisture Renew Lipsticks- The shades of these lipsticks are so flattering. That's initially what sold me most on these lipsticks, but there's more. These lipsticks are so moisturizing without being sticky feeling on the lips. My favorite shade is Spotlight Beige, which is not listed on the web-site, but can be purchased in the store. You can buy Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipsticks at Walgreens for $6.99 US, and watch for their Buy 1 Get 1 50% off Sales.

1000 Kisses Stay On Lip Liner- These eye liners are good stuff. They come in several different shades to match your lipsticks and have good lasting power. I perfer buying cheaper brands of lip pencils to save money for more important department store products. You can find the Rimmel 1000 Kisses Lip Liners at Walgreens.

Sigma

Brushes- F80 (SS197), F05(SS109), SS134, F30(SS150), F40(SS168), E60(SS252), E35(SS217), E40(SS224), E65(SS266). Oh gosh, the drama behind these brushes. Frankly, there are good and bad products of every brand, and Sigma is no exception. Some of these brushes are great and some are not. You can take a look at my full Sigma Review and MAC Comparisons here. The just of it is that Sigma brushes are great for the price, but the brushes that are supposed to be tapered suck because they are poorly cut, ex. the (SS219) is the absolute worst of the whole collection. However, the others that I have mentioned above are great brushes and I use them on a daily basis with great results. You can now purchase individual brushes from Sigma which is great. The price varies depending on the brush.

Wet n' Wild

Color Icon Eye Shadows- Take your choice, the singles, trios, and 6 color palettes are all wonderful, come in gorgeous shades, and a steal of a deal. You can find these at Walgreens

Cream Eyeliner- This is some good stuff!! Even in the hottest summer month this stuff is not coming off. I even use it on my waterline when I know that a pencil liner just won't cut it. This is the best black gel eye liner I have ever used. The pigmentation is awesome. The blackest of black. It glides on smoothly and last forever. You can purchase Wet n Wild gel eyeliner at most drugstores including CVS for $3.99 US.

What the hell is MAC thinking???

The word on the beautiful side of the street is that MAC's new policy now states that their employees are no longer allowed to share inside information with the public about MAC collections before the collection releases. From what I hear, if a MAC employee is caught doing this they can be terminated! So, this means no more upcoming collection names, product list, or swatches. This was confirmed for me yesterday when I called the MAC consumer care line to inquire about when and if the 15 pro pan palettes would be changed to the same style as the quads, with clear lids. When I told the lady that I had heard that the palettes where rumored to be changed, she snottily asked me, "Where exactly did you hear this information from?" I calmly responded in my most sweet, southern mannerly voice, "Excuse me Mame, but I thought I was supposed to be the one asking the questions while you are the one who was supposed to do the answering." She quickly respond with a snappy little attitude, "Yes, Mame I do not have any information about this, we have not been given any updates at this time." Which I happen to know is a lie, because on November 31, 2010 there was a product meeting held. At the meeting she would have been told about the upcoming products that will be released. But, whatever.

Also, if you take a look on Specktra.net the traffic really seems like it has slowed down a bit. I'm not sure if this is because of the new layout and differences in the way you now have to navigate the sight, but it truly seems as though there is less posting taken place there, and much less information being posted. With the Cham Pale collection releasing in only 20 more days there would already be numerous swatches posted of all or most of the products. There are very few swatches of this collection available ANYWHERE, not just on Specktra.net. If you are able to find any swatches most of them are of the items that are being re-promoted. Also, usually there is information on at least the next 2 or 3 upcoming collections. The newest collection information is for the Mickey Contractor collection which releases in January.

MAC must have had a brain fart or something. I guess they don't realize that releasing early information brings in big profits for them. Think of it like this...Your average chick down the street is not a MAC addict and could care less about upcoming MAC collections. She also probably doesn't spend that much money on MAC cosmetics. We beauty bloggers, Makeupalley members, Specktra members, makeup artist, and closet makeup hoers are the ones shelling out hundreds of dollars on each collection, and we are the ones waiting on pins and needles for the next collection to come out so we can do it again. We are the ones who want to hear all the newest information, so that we can plan out our massive MAC wish lists. We are also the ones who are bring in the majority of the big bucks to MAC every year! All I can say is what in the hell are they thinking??? I guess they weren't thinking about this at all, but in this economy they really should be.

By MAC allowing all of us beauty bloggers to know about upcoming collections early we we're sending out free advisement and hyping up their products to millions around the world from our home computers or mobile phones. Helping to sell out their products very quickly, and helping to bring in costumers that normally would have just walked right passed the MAC counter. Not only that, with MAC shiting out a new collection every other week, it seems. The early information gave all of us MAC addicts time to cough up a couple hundred dollars to spend on each collection. I know that sounds crazy, but I'm not joking. I have one of the smallest MAC collections of any of the MAC addicts I know, and I have spent over $5,000.00 on MAC products alone in the past 2 years. If you think that's bad you should see my best friends brush collection alone. MAC should be kissing our asses and give us exactly what we want...for the right price of course. Instead it seems as though they think we should be kissing their ass. If you need proof of that, take a walk into the MAC freestanding store in Baton Rouge, LA the SA's there act like they are doing you a favor to answer your questions, help you find a product, or to even take your money. Needless, to say I don't shop there anymore.

This new kick in the teeth makes me not want to purchase MAC anymore. They have raised prices, decreased the size of several of their products, and now this whole no info rule. It's just a total let down. However, I know that my addiction is way to strong to say that I would never buy their products again. I wouldn't dare say I am on a MAC no buy, but I can promise you one thing. No more stalking LE for me!! I will stop in to replenish items from the regular line, and if a new collection happens to be out and item catches my eye, great I will pick it up. But no more $200 collection wish lists or purchases for me. I can promise you I won't be standing in front of the MAC store in Metarie, LA anymore just waiting for the doors to open, so that I can score the latest bag of hype. My MAC budget just went on a diet and my savings account just got fatter.

Then again, Make Up For Ever has some great products I've had my eye on. : D I guess I said that like a true makeup hoer. LOL.

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils in Gold & Pure Gold Review & Comparison- ♥♥♥

I like these pencils mostly for the color selection. They come in just about every shade you could imagine which gives you some great options for your eye looks. While MAC Paint Pots color selection is quite small and offers colorful shades only on a limited edition bases. Unfortunately, NYX Jumbo Pencils pale in comparison to MAC Paint Pots quality. After I took the swatch photo to post here. I waited for about 30 min. and then took my finger and wiped it across the swatches to see if any would smudge. The MAC Paint Pots stood strong with no smudging at all. However the NYX Jumbo Pencils both smudged. Now, there is a way to fix this. When I use the Jumbo Pencils I always use a primer such as UDPP under the pencil. This helps to prevent creasing and smudging. Also, don't use the pencil by applying it directly to the eye. This can cause a build up of product and it will surely crease. Apply the pencil by rubbing it on your finger first, and then apply it to your lid with your finger. This insures that you don't use an excess of product and that it is evenly applied. I always apply them this way and I have never had any problems with creasing or smudging. It's an extra step that you have to take, but I would say that it's worth it. Especially if you are on a beauty budget. MAC Paint Pots are $16.50 ea. US and NYX Jumbo Pencils are $3.50 ea. US on the Cherry Culture website. That is a $13.00 US savings!

As far as the two particular shades go, I don't think that you need both. As you can see from the swatches they are both very close in color. The Pure Gold is slightly more golden were Gold is slightly more bronze. Being that NYX also offers a Bronze Jumbo Eye Pencil I would suggest skipping the Gold one and get Pure Gold and Bronze.
Just a little FYI- Skip the Black Bean Pencil as well. There is nothing you can do to keep this sucker from creasing. BTW- My lids aren't oily either.

MAC Rubenesque & Indianwood Paint Pots Review and Compairision- ♥♥♥♥♥

My best friend just asked me what I thought of MAC's Rubenesque and Indianwood Paint Pots, and if she needed both. So, Tracy this one is for you girlie.

For those of you who have never tried a MAC Paint Pot go get one now. You'll love it. MAC Paint Pots can be purchased in MAC stores, counters, or at MAC.com for $16.50 US. There are 9 regular line shades, and MAC releases LE shades periodically during the year, looking forward to the Cham Pale ones. MAC Paint Pots serve as a primer and base all in one. You will not need a separate primer to prevent creasing. Paint Pots start out with a creamy texture, but dry pretty quickly so that you can also wear it as a smudge proof cream shadow. I love to use them as a primer and base, because they add so much drama to the eyeshadow you use on top of it. It makes the eyeshadow POP!

As far as Rubenesque and Indianwood go. In my opinion they are not similar enough to just get on or the other, especially if you love wearing gold tones, like I do. Indianwood is more of a brown toned golden bronze where as Rubenesque is a peachy gold. To me Indianwood applies more opaque and Rubenesque applies slightly sheerer, but you can easily build it to get the coverage you like, and it still won't crease.

And just a bit of extra info...No, I don't think that Rubenesque and Indianwood are anything like the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils in Prue Gold or Gold. Please check out my review on those Wednesday.

Makeup Forever HD Invisible Coverage Foundation- ♥♥♥♥

This is my fall/winter go to foundation. I can't wear this one in the spring/winter simply because it does not stand a chance in the hot, extremely humid weather that we have here in Louisiana. But when the weather is cooler this is my favorite foundation. I like it because it gives a flawless look to the skin. As you know I'm getting verrry close to 30 yrs. old, and though I take good care of my skin, time just does things to your skin that you would rather not let everyone see. That is what is great about this stuff, it is so build-able, and has great coverage, but it doesn't make you look like you're wearing a mask. It leaves a flawless healthy looking dewy finish. The price is a little steep to me. I bought mine at Sephora for $40 US, but really it is a bargin. I have had my MUFE HD foundation for almost 2 yrs. now, and I haven't made a dent in the bottle at all. It still looks brand new. This is because all you need for great coverage is 2 squirts. This foundation comes with a pump which is always great! I pump once on my hand and apply that to one side of my face. Then I pump again, on my hand and apply to the other side. I always use a brush to apply it with. I think this helps with not needing so much product.

Another great thing about this foundation is the color selection. If you are a lady like myself and have a horrible time getting your exact foundation match this is a great foundation. The color section is huge! The Sephora website offers 26 shades ranging from the palest to the darkest shades with every undertone imaginable. My advice when picking out a foundation shade is to always get 3 samples. Get the shade that looks like your perfect match. Then get one shade lighter and a shade darker. Apply each one and go outside and see what each on looks like in natural light. The lights in department stores always suck. After you have picked the one that suits you then go buy the full size bottle. This way you can be sure you have the best match possible.

This is really great stuff and if you have been wanting to give it a try and just didn't know whether or not to splurge on it. You really should. Plus, if you buy from Sephora their return policy is great so you won't be stuck with it, if you are not satisfied. Actually, I returned my first bottle in #119 because the shade was a bit to light for me, and got my perfect match in #125. The SA's were great about it and I had no problem exchanging it for me.

I hope you enjoyed the review. I will be reviewing more MUFE soon. I have the HD Microfinish Powder and Black Aqua Eyes Eyeliner Pencil on the books already. I would really like to try to get the MUFE Face and Body Foundation as well. I think it would be a great spring/summer foundation since it is water proof. However, there is not as many foundation shades to choose from as the HD foundation, and finding a match is not going to be as easy. I'll still give it a go, and let you know.

Drugstore Product of the Week- Wet n' Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Single- Nutty- ♥♥♥♥

I was having a bit of trouble deciding which drugstore product to feature this week, and then it hit me. I have been wearing this gorgeous shade of eyeshadow for over a week straight, and I absolutely love it. The shade is so versatile and can be worn with many different shades and for both day and night looks. It is a warm/red based, smokey/ashy, shimmery taupe-ish/ brown tone. I know, I suck at color descriptions. The color reminds me of a brown toned MAC Smoke and Diamonds or even a brown toned MAC Satin Taupe. It's not as golden as Woodwinked. The texture is top notch and is a breeze to blend out, and the pigmentation is great as well. This shade is great for a nice wash of color but is also very build-able for a more dramatic look. This item will always have a place in my collection because of it's great quality, affordable price, and the gorgeous color. Wet n' Wild is really surprising me with the Color Icon Eyeshadows, they are great quality. I will be posting more reviews on the Trios and 6 color palettes. If there is a certain one you would like to see first let me know I have them all! : D

My Initial Thoughts

I'm really liking this collection for it's natural beauty. Lately I've really been drawn to more natural looks and this collection has really got my attention. I'm concerned that the lipsticks will give off a dead pasty look being that they seem to be so pale, but only swatches can tell. The lipgelees will not be on my wishlist as well, just for the simple fact that I tend to steer away from MAC's lip products unless I will be B2MACing for them, so that I can save money for more important items.

My favorite items from this collection will definitely be the Paint Pots. I love Paint Pots almost as much as I love blush. It will be so hard for me to decide, but if Let Me Pot is similar to Indianwood I will past on that one, and if Vintage Selection is similar to Coral Crepe I will pass on that one as well. However, if the similarities aren't there they will all be mine!!

A must have for me will also be the Lavender Fix +. I was lucky enough to have gotten the Rose Fix + from my CCO a long while back, and I have been using it ever so sparingly, afraid that I would run out. After using the Rose Fix + I could never imagine going back to the old plain Jane Fix +. So, I'm so happy to see another scented one being released. This will be a back up item for me, which is very rare.

Now, the Palette, Special Reserve Highlight Powders, and the I Get No Kick Eye Kohl Pencil all interest me. But, I will have to see swatches and see what my bank account says before I decide on these items. My concern with the palette and Special Reserve Highlight Powders is pigmentation and texture. Thank goodness for swatches and testers. We shall see. Comment below and let me know what is catching your eye or if this collection will be a skip for you due to the lack of color. I love hearing from everyone! : )

I'm so sorry for such a long absence. I'm thankful to see that my faithful subscribers are still here waiting for me. My personal life has been quite stressful over the past few months. You know just when you think everything is straightened out something thing else falls apart. In one way or another it just seems like lately there is no rest for the weary, and sadly I had no choice but to put my blog on the back burner. But no matter what I will always come back to my blog. I love blogging and I love sharing all of my built up info with you guys. So, everyone get ready cause here we go again!

I would like to share some wonderful news with ya'll. During my absence I was getting everything together to apply to the Aveda Institute to study esthiology. I'm so happy to say that I was accepted and will start Feb. 6, 2011. So, look forward to me posting about everything I'm learning and my experiences there. I'm super excited!!! : D

My Top 15 Favorite Blushes & MSF's OF ALL TIME!!

Hi! I hope everyone is having a great weekend! I'm having a blast getting together my favorite blush post for ya'll. Blush is my absolute favorite makeup item, and I'm a total blush whore! I just love 'em. I've only been into MAC for about 2 years now and have 8 MSFs, 42 blushes, and 1 on the way (Happy Together MB). I know I need to stop the insanity, but I love them and enjoy just about everyone of them. What can I say I like variety in my life! Well, when it comes to makeup, not men. LOL. Hey, if I wasn't happily married a variety of men would be fine too! Ok, BOT- I have plundered through all of my lovely blushes to give you my favorites. These are my personal favorites for my NC30 skin tone. Some are great for that youthful pop of color and some are a more natural shade. All of them are beautiful! I know that 15 favorites seem like a lot, but it's the best I could do. I didn't want to leave some out. My collection consists of a mix of regular line and LE products, so of course some of my favorites are LE and long gone off the MAC site. For that, I am sorry. But do check out your local CCO. I have found quite a few gems there, and some are on this list. I did the list according to my most favorite first. Here goes!

#1- Marine Life (To The Beach)
If I could only own one blush for the rest of my life this would be it! I know that MAC is always coming out with something better and better with every collection, but it will take one damn crazy amazing product to top ML for me. It just gives me the most absolutely gorgeous vibrant peachy/coral glow to my skin. I swear it makes my skin look at least 3 yrs. younger when I wear it. Especially now that the gold over-spray is gone I don't have to worry about it accentuating any pores. The gold over-spray is the ONLY thing about this blush I don't care for, it looks so over the top on the skin, but that was easy to fix. I took my #150 brush and wiped it away with 3 good swipes, gone. Marine Life is going for anywhere from $35-$60USD on e-bay. That's disgusting!! Really MAC is to blame for that since they are releasing such a limited supply on all of the most sought after LE products. Smart asses and their marketing strategies! I swear I'm going to stop buying from you one day... just not today. :P By the way here's my dupe: Mix Instant Chic and Hipness! I promise, you can't tell the difference!

#2- Petticoat MSF (Lingerie, Sheer Minerals, In The Groove)-
Get it NOW!!! Don't hesitate on this MSF! Petticoat is a shade that is wearable for everyone! I'm NC30, my best friend is NC50, and it shows as a beautiful blush on both of us. I have to use a duo fiber brush or a light hand to apply this blush as would ladies who are lighter than me, but my goodness it is absolutely gorgeous! On my skin tone Petticoat shows up as a warm ripe gilded raspberry. Aside from the color and finish of this MSF, I love Petticoat b/c it is more pigmented than most other MSFs. Therefore, it doesn't take as much product to get gorgeous cheeks. More bang for your buck.

#3- Sweetness Beauty Powder Blush (Beauty Powder Blush '08) or Tippy Beauty Powder Blush (Hello Kitty) (Dollymix is a close regular line alternative)
There is a reason why MAC has released so many blushes of this shade. It is the same reason why you can buy the same shade from just about every cosmetic company known to man/lady. It sells! Really this is another one of those versatile shades that everyone can wear and look hot. It's easily an everyday kind of shade and wouldn't be over the top for the office and would be great on a night out with the ladies. Sweetness and Tippy look exactly the same on the cheeks and in the pan. In the pan they are a bright hot pink. On the cheeks they give a dolly pink glow to the skin. Reminds me of an "innocent school girl look". :)

#4- Band of Roses Mineralize Blush (In The Groove)-
Finally MAC listens!!!! They finally give me a mineralize blush with a very subtle sheen instead of those freaking glitter bombs from Color Craft. I was fixing to give up on buying any new mineralize blushes, and then I got back In The Groove. Yay, MAC! You piss me off so much, but I love you for this! I know I'm so silly sometimes. :P Back to Band of Roses- At first glance the two shades in BoR may seem like something you have seen before. But, once you swirl the shades together you will quickly see that it's a beauty all on it's own. Band of Roses is highly pigmented pinkish raspberry shade that leaves you with sweet dolly cheeks.
Take note, BoR is highly pigmented. I have to use this with a very light hand and buff it out or it looks like somebody slapped the hell out of me. The high pigmentation is also why this blush would look great on dark skin-tones as well.

#5- New Vibe (In The Groove)-
If you have and love Intenso from the Grand Duo collection this one is not a necessity. If you liked Intenso, but were turned off by so much shimmer, get this one. I have both of course, but I'm going to sell/swap my Intenso now. The shades are sooo close it's not even noticeable on the cheeks. Both give a vibrant rosy bronze glow to the cheeks. New Vibe is slightly more pigmented, but once you apply and blend you can't tell the difference in the shade. But, you can definitely tell the difference in the amount of shimmer that stays on your cheeks. New Vibes shimmer is not nearly as intense as Intenso's. One other thing that they have in common is that both of these blushes' pigmentation is off the charts. Although, I think that Intenso maybe slightly less pigmented than New Vibe they are both highly pigmented. I have to apply each of them with a duo fiber brush and buff with a kabuki after. I do think that this blush is suitable for all skin-tones as well, but it maybe a slight pain in the butt for the fair to apply. Although, I think the extra effort would be worth it.

#6- Warmed Mineralize Skinfinish (N-Collection)-
Warmed is the most beautiful true bronzer that I've even seen. It really doesn't get the love that it deserves. It's one of the most gorgeous MSF's ever! I know that it is technically a bronzer, but it deserves it's place on this list. If this were strictly a bronzer list, it would be my #1 choice. On me Warmed appears as a natural golden bronze with a golden glow. Warmed is not glittery or shimmery, just a slight sheen. Warmed would be gorgeous as a bronzer on anyone who is about NW/NC45 or below. I think that this would make the most gorgeous highlighter for darker tones and would also recommend getting it for a highlight. The texture of this MSF is lovely as well. Buttery soft.

#7- Light Flush Mineralize Skinfinish (N-Collection) (These were re-released in the Pinkzapopin' '09 Holiday Sets)
I got it at CCO about 5 months ago, and they have them there again!! I saw them last Friday (7/2) when I did a MAJOR haul there. Light Flush is more of a my cheeks but way better blush on me. It's a very natural golden peachy shade with golden shimmer on me. This would be beautiful for fair ladies as well. If your over NC40 I'd say skip it for a blush, but it would be gorgie for a highlight.

#8- Spaced Out Sheertone Shimmer Blush (Neo Sci Fi)
This is the most unique looking blush on the cheeks that I have in my collection, which makes it very special. At first glance, in the pan Spaced Out looks like any other warm peach toned blush, but after you swatch it you quickly see it's like nothing you've ever seen before. It has this amazing pink pearl duo chrome finish. Which means when you apply it to your cheeks it's total glam, not at all a glitter bomb, just frosting on the cake. Yum ladies! These swatches really don't capture the pink frosting duo chrome finish, but it is amazing.

#9- Hipness Powder Blush (Frost) (Fafi & To The Beach)
Hipness is the most beautiful bright coral pink on me. Hipness would look fantastic on just about everyone. It is pigmented enough for even the darkest of skin-tones to love. My fair ladies will need a duo fiber or light hand with this one. It is similar to my beloved Marine Life, but not exactly the same. Hipness was said to be more chalky in texture in the To The Beach collection rather than in it's original release with Fafi. That is not true. They are the exact same texture. So, if you think one is too chalky the other will be as well. I do find Hipness to be one of the more chalkier blushes of my collection. But, the chalkiness does not effect my application at all. It blends well into my skin, leaving no streaks. So, I forgive the texture. The color is just that amazing.

#10- Merrily Mineralize Blush (Sonic Chic)
This was the first MAC blush I ever owned. I swapped for this one on MUA a long time ago. This is a product that was hyped over and, surprisingly the hype was well deserved. Merrily is a highly pigmented, bright red with a slight orangy undertone and leaves a slight golden sheen. It gives me that "I just came in from the winter cold" kind of glow to my cheeks. It's absolutely beautiful. I wear Merrily in the fall and winter months mostly only because I feel that it would give a sunburned look for the summer. That's just not cute. This blush can be worn by the darkest of the dark and the lightest of the light. The trick to this one is, of course, your application and buff the hell out of it. Gorgie!

#11- Naunce Mineralize Blush (Sonic Chic)
Au Naturale. I don't know if I spelled that correctly, but you get it. I whined over Nuance for literally years. I refused to pay e-bay prices for this blush. Finally an amazing friend on Specktra sold this to me for $20 USD! What a great deal! It was worth waiting for! Nuance gives me a natural warm light peachy tan flush with a slight golden sheen. This blush would look amazing on lighter complexions as well, but any darker than NC35 and it becomes a highlight. This is one of those blushes that goes with any eye look. Nuance and a neutral eye give you that everyday natural look. Nuance and a dramatic smokey eye = Hot Momma!

#12- Azalea Blossom Blush Ombre (Spring Color Forecast)
Are you surprised this doesn't say Ripe Peach? LOL. Seriously, I didn't even buy Ripe peach! My collection already has so many peachy blushes that I passed on it. Do I regret it? Nope. Instead I purchased Azalea Blossom which is the one with bright pink with the gradual increase of lavendar. Lots of people are saying that is simular to Hang Loose (In The Groove). Ehhh maybe, but I think that Azalea Blossom is brighter and a bit darker, but that's just me. It may also depend on the way you swatch them since they are both duo shades?? Anyway, AB gives that you a glowy pink cheek look. It looks a bit more natural and less bright than Sweetness or Tippy. I think the lavendar tones it down a bit. I think that NC/NW15- NC/NW45 would love this shade, but on shades any darker it may come off kind of ashy looking. However, if you are darker and interested in this one, I would swatch it to make sure.

#13- Instant Chic Sheertone Blush (Prete a Papier)

Instant Chic is a beautiful peachy coral-ishious blush. However, it is a Sheertone Blush which means there is no shimmer at all. In the summer months I lean toward a little more shimmer than ever. So, for now I usually pair this one with another blush/highlight that has a little shimmer. I think in the fall/winter when I don't do as much shimmer on the cheeks IC will definitely move up on my list. I love to pair it with my beloved Light Flush or Hipness for summer. Hot Momma! Many say that IC and Melba are identical. Nope. I own both, and though they're similar, they are definitely not identical. Melba is peachy were as IC is pinkish. Do I think you need both? Nope. Instant Chic is the better blush in my opinion, but if you can't get it Melba is great. Add a little bit of rosey pink blush to Melba on the cheeks and, Voa La! Instant Chic is on the lighter side so this one would not be suitable for darker skin tones. Same for Melba. I'd say up to NC/NW40 otherwise it will be ashy looking.

#14- Margin Powder Blush (Frost) (Regular Line)
This is everyone's shade of blush. It's so versatile. When I purchased this I also got one for my best friend who is NC45/50, and it looks amazing on her as well. It gives my NC30 tone a gorgeous golden peach glow. I purchased it about 9 months ago and it's always a go to favorite of mine.

#15- Stereo Rose Mineralize Skinfinish (In The Groove)
Stereo Rose has the beautiful metallicy not glittery finish that I love for the summer, but the shade leaves more to be desired. It's more of a natural bronzed peachy coral. Almost to natural for my taste. Don't get me wrong it looks pretty on my cheeks, but I love the pop of color that I get from others. It definitely did not live up to all the hype that has surrounded it for years. I can't believe that I even considered paying $75 USD for it. Gosh, am I glad I didn't. I would have been so pissed. It's pretty, but definitely not $75 worth of pretty. That shit better apply it's self to my cheeks for that price! I usually pair this MSF with other shades I love to achieve a really gorgeous shade. I would imagine this would look ravishing on my lighter toned ladies, say NC/NW15 to NC/NW25. I would not recommend this as a blush for anyone who is darker than NC/NW40, any darker and it would suit as a highlighter. Everyone, swatch this before you get it. Don't give into the hype and buy it b/c everyone says you, "need it". Make sure you really love it for the actual product rather than the hype.

Ya'll, I know there is a obvious similarity in my list. I know that the vast majority of my favorites are LE. I'm really sorry for that, but keep in mind that these are my favorites from my collection of blushes THAT I ALREADY OWN. What I mean by that is do not feel like you need to rush over to e-bay and pay their ridiculous prices for these blushes, just because I say they are pretty. In my opinion, there is no blush made by any cosmetic company in the world that is worth more than $35 USD. Further more there's no MSF that MAC ever made worth more than $50 bucks. If you can get your hands on these for a reasonable price, it's worth it. If not, keep in mind that MAC released 30+ collections last year, and with each upcoming collection something bigger and better always comes out. There is a BIG difference when you pay slightly above retail for a gorgeous blush that looks fabulous on your cheeks. Rather than buying into a bunch of bull shit hype, over paying for a product, and getting a blush that would look better on your fair/darker friend. MAC and e-bay sellers have made billions off of that bull shit hype! Hell, I paid $35 USD for Parrot e/s! I've learned better and would never do that again. Parrot is not even one of my favorite e/s! Go figure. Bullshit Hype!

I know several ladies who don't use blush and think that it is not important to their makeup look. I'm not one of those ladies! LOL. I love my blush and I think it brings your entire look together and completes the face. I would rather wear clear gloss or chap-stick on my lips than to go without blush! In The Groove- My Haul, Stereo Rose Story, and My Advice

I hope that everyone had good luck getting their hands on Stereo Rose MSF. I'm lucky enough to have wonderful SA's at my MAC counter at Dillard's, so my Stereo Rose was securely waiting for me when I got there this morning, but I know some of you were not as lucky, and I'm so sorry. Let me just say this, it's not as bad as you think if you missed out. Don't get me wrong SR is pretty, but not nearly as pretty as what the hype makes it seem like. For real, when you go to your MAC store swatch Stereo Rose, Petticoat, New Vibe Mineralize Blush, and any others blushes that catch your eye on your arm for a good side by side comparison. I promise Stereo Rose will pale in comparison, and you will leave the store with something beautiful for you, instead of something people have over hyped, and made you think you'll cry if you don't get it.

For those of you didn't get it, dry your eyes, get off your ass, and go get Petticoat MSF it's gorgeous! I happen to like it more than the illusive Stereo Rose. I got mine during the last release and love it, and reach for it often. I have other blushes that are much more pretty than SR, and do way more for my NC25-30 complexion. I tend to lean toward slightly more pigmented shades and just apply with a duo fiber brush (187, 188, or 131). I just love the glow that the brighter shades give. Stereo Rose is not as pigmented as I would have liked it to been. It definitely shows up, but I would have loved it more if it would've been more Coral-ish. I don't know it's hard to explain, but it's more of a natural coral than an OMG look she's wearing Stereo Rose. If you know what I mean. :P

Also, don't forget check to out the Mineralize Blushes in this collection. Don't let SR cloud you vision these blushes are stunning and better than any of the other 12 MB that I own, with the exception of Nuance and Merrily. The In The Groove MBs are more of a Satiny finish with a very soft sheen instead of the shimmer we've seen in the Grand Duos and the glitter we got in Color Craft ones. I have personal favorites from the In The Groove ones, but really I don't see where you could go wrong with these as long as you love the shade.

I had every intention in getting a few of the Mineralize Eyeshadows from this collection as well, but when I got the news that we can not Back2Mac for the trios I said, "hell no". I wanted to get Calm, Cool, and Collected, Blue My Mind, and In The Groove. I'll be waiting for these to hit my CCO to get them. They always end up coming there anyways. You should see all the MES duos there. Damn, you know if the ones from Style Black made it to the CCO these are sure to come. For those of you who don't have a CCO or just can't wait that long, all of these trios are very nice with the same Satiny finish as the blushes. Even the blue shades in the Blue My Mind trio and the green shades in the Calm, Cool, and Collected trio are very wearable tones. Any of them would be nice to add to your collection.

In my opinion, the best things to have from this collection is Petticoat MSF and New Vibe Mineralized Blush. I love Band of Roses Mineralized Blush as well, and is another one to consider. I'll tell everyone what I have to remind myself all the time...Don't let other people be in total control over your decisions. Take what they have to say into consideration, but in the end make the choice that is best for you and what you want. This goes for everything in life, makeup too!! :) Please comment, I love to hear from ya'll!

MAC Lustre Drops in Pink Rebel- Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥

This product was originally release with the Style Warriors collection and now re-released with the To The Beach collection. The Lustre Drops are sold for $18.50 in both collections. The bottle is very small so the price seemed a little steep to me. I got over the price quickly once I swatched them and went ahead and bought them, but I will be stalking my CCO for my next bottle.

It was love at first swatch for me. This stuff gives me the most gorgeous dewy glow I have ever gotten from a highlighting product. It gives a nice light pinkish/golden glow. There is no glitter in this stuff. It leaves what I would describe as a frosty/duo chrome finish. The finish kind of reminds me of the finish of Petticoat MSF or Spaced Out blush, not the color, just the finish.

When applied Pink Rebel seems to just soak into the skin. It leaves no stickiness or powderiness behind, which I love. You can wear it alone for a simple fresh look or add a pop of color with your favorite blush on the apples of your cheeks. Either way it looks amazing. I love it!

Maybelline Lash Stiletto Vulumptous Waterproof Mascara in Very Black- Rating: ♥♥♥♥

I use this mascara everyday and keep a new one in my drawer at all times. This mascara does exactly "what I need it to". Notice, I didn't say "what it says". My lashes are what I would describe as on the normal side in length but are a light brown/ blond color on the ends, so they appear shorter than they actually are. I have a pretty good amount of lashes, but the individual lashes are very fine. So, when I look for a mascara I look for one that will accentuate each one of my lashes by adding a little volume and most importantly lots of length. I do not believe in so called "daytime lashes". I like long dramatic "doe eyed lashes" all day, everyday. This is by far the best lengthening mascara I have ever tried from the drugstore.

The voluptuousness of this mascara may not be enough for some. It does add some volume to each lash, but not as much as say, L'oreal's Voluminous Mascara does. I really don't mind because I do get enough volume from the Lash Stiletto, and it has never clumped on me, and I coat my lashes down with it. Lash Stiletto leaves me with dramatic long, glossy, flake free lashes that last all day.

The formula can be a pain to remove if you do not use an eye makeup remover, but that's what makes it so great. No matter the weather or tear jerking movie my lashes don't budge.

Mark Pro Bronze Bronzing Powder- Bronze- Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥

I usually don't buy Mark/Avon products. This will probably be the only Avon/Mark related review I will ever post. Most of the Avon/Mark products I have purchased in the past have been poorly pigmented and just not what I expected in one way or another. This product is my only exception, and I have and will continue to repurchase it as long as it is not ever discontinued. This is good stuff!

I've had this particular compact of Mark Pro Bronze in the shade Bronze for 2 summers now, and my pan is no where in sight. This stuff lasts me forever. Grant it, I use it mostly in the summer months for a sun kissed glow. This bronzer does contain some micro fine shimmer that is slightly visible in the pan. Once you apply it to you skin the shimmer is barely visible at all. I tend to prefer a bronzer with little to no shimmer. It's not that I don't like a little shimmer (no glitter, please). I just like to have the choice of how much. So, for days that I want a little more I just add a shimmery Mineralize Skin Finish or a nice pop of shimmery blush on top. I very seldom ever wear only bronzer on my cheeks. I'm just a blush whore like that, but it's really what ever you like. That's just me.

Another great thing about this bronzer is that it provides a natural looking color. Some bronzers can have a orangy/fake tan tint to them, or have an ashy/gray looking haze. I do not have any of these problems from this bronzer. I just get that natural healthy looking bronzed glow that we all love. I'm not saying that this bronzer would or wouldn't work for all skin tones, but for my NC25/NC30 tone it is perfect.

Now, for the life of me I can't remember how much I paid for this bronzer back when I bought it, but the Avon Website gives the price of $10. You can order it off the website or from your local Avon representative. If you are not sure who she is there is also a tool on the site to help you find her. I really hope that if you are looking for a great natural looking bronzer for a very affordable price you will give this stuff a try. I love it!

Jergens Natural Glow Revitalizing Daily Moisturizer for Medium Skin (gradual self-tanner) Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥

Let me start by letting you know that I am not a pro at self-tanner. I know that lots of girls know how to apply self-tanners of any kind with out getting streaks. I am not one of those girls. I need a product that is fool proof. This one is the easiest I have found to apply while still giving the appearance of a natural tan. There are just a few tips I use to insure a streak less finish.

First, I always shave or wax my legs. It just seems to leave a more even finish this way.

Then, I exfoliate the areas where I will be applying the self-tanner.

After, I exfoliate I apply the self-tanner to my legs, arms, stomach, chest, and neck. I do not apply this to my feet and hands. When I apply it to my legs I squirt the product in my hand and start in the middle of the calf portion of my leg I blend downward toward my ankle and then upward toward my knee. When there is barely any product left on my hand I blend it into my knee, with my knee bent. Be very careful about how much product you apply to the knee, because to much will make you look like you have dirty knees. I apply the self-tanner to my thighs, arms, and stomach the same way as I did on my calf. Starting in the middle and blending down and up. On my neck and chest I do it the same way as well, I just use very little product.

Finally, when you have finished applying the product to the areas that you want, do not get dressed immediately. You have to let the product dry on your skin before you get dressed. Otherwise your clothes can rub off the self-tanner and cause a patchy look. I always take this time to cleanse my face, brush my teeth, and get ready for bed. You could even stand in front of a fan for a few minutes.

Also, I like to apply my self-tanner at night that way I can see my results in the morning and if I have any problem areas I can fix them before I leave out for the day. If you have a light spot just add a tad bit more product to the spot and blend, blend, blend. If you have a dark spot take an old tooth brush and lightly rub the spot.

I hope that this helps to get you started on your sunless tanning routine. I have used this product for the past 3 summers to get a great faux tan. In my younger dumber years I did go to the tanning bed every now and then, but I was really never a "fake baker", you know the kind who goes like religion. But even seldom visits to the tanning bed are dangerous. So, now that I got smart about that stuff. I use this self-tanner and tan with out UV rays. It works!

Secret Clinical Strength Waterproof Antiperspirant/Deodorant- Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥

I am always on the look out for a really good antiperspirant/deodorant. In this heat the sweat pours. I know gross, but hey if you're not wearing deodorant you need too. lol. So, I have been using this stuff for a month now, and the results are great. I use it exactly how it says on the directions, applying it morning and night. I apply all deodorants this way normally. I never smell stinky and no pit stains. So, I'm happy. I can't remember exactly how much I paid for this at my local Wal-Mart, but I do remember that it was a little more expensive than my trusty old Degree, probably about $5.00 or so. This antiperspirant uses 20% of Aluminum Zirconium Trichlorohydrex Gly to keep you from sweating. It is also waterproof so that helps to keep it on. Give it a try it's good stuff.

BTW- You will notice that I do not list any eyeliner in my Summer Must Haves. Well, this is because I try not to use much eyeliner in the daytime during the summer. I normally love to line my waterline with Urban Decay's Eye Pencils, but in the daytime during the summer months it makes more of a mess than it does wonders for my eye look. I opt to use this only for nights out on the town in the summer months (the nights are a tad cooler). Also, I do not list any eyeshadows. This is because I love them all! I mainly use MAC and NYX eyeshadows and I use which ever ones I am in the mood for that day. Eyeshadows are a year round product and they are all my favorites. Seriously, I don't own one I don't like. If I have to be specific as far as summer eyeshadow shades, I do like to bring out the colors this time of the year. Just to add a little fun to my look, but I still do neutral looks as well.

MAC Paint Pots Swatches & Reviews

I love these things! I bought Construtivist, Moss Scape, and Rollickin' from my CCO for $11.75 each. The Rubenesque I bought from a lovely Specktrette for about $10. Coral Crepe and Indianwood I bought at MAC for $16.50 each. So, keep your eye out for these at your CCO for a nice discount on them.

I use these Paint Pots as an all over lid color, base, and primer all in one. When I use these as a base I do not use a primer under them. I just blend the heck out of them, and I do not ever experience any creasing. My lids tend to be on the dryer side so that helps to keep the creasing down. Others with oilier lids may want to apply a little Urban Decay Primer Potion, Too Faced Shadow Insurance, or L'oreal's De-Crease for a cheaper alternative. When you use use a Paint Pot as a base under your eyeshadow it brings out the color of your eyeshadow making the shade appear more intense. The PP also gives your eyeshadow something to stick to and helps it last much longer than normally.

I also love to use these as a quick "get my butt out the door" wash of color. Most of the shades I have with the exception of Coral Crepe and Rollickin' have a nice shimmer to them. The ones with shimmer give a gorgeous "made up" look with just a couple swipes of the brush.You can also add to the intensity of your wash of color by building up the PP on the lid. You need to just add more product and blend until you achieve the right intensity for you. Just a word of caution...the more of this product you apply to your lid, the more likely it is to crease. When I use these as a wash of color I always use a separate primer before I apply my Paint Pot.

BTW- For those of you who are wondering. I do prefer MAC's Paint Pots over their Shade Sticks. I find that the Shade Sticks dry out extremely fast.

Revlon PhotoReady Foundation- Review, Swatch, & Trick

The PhotoReady foundation is formulated to achieve a flawless look to your skin in photographs. Their formulation uses tiny flecks of shimmer to capture the lighting and deliver a smoothing aspect to the skin. It's great for what it is designed for and gives great results in photos. PhotoReady is a light to medium coverage foundation. I has pretty good staying power indoors lasting about 6 hrs. with one re-swirl (I use my #187 and just re-swirl my foundation) mid-day. This foundation only last me about 3 hrs. when I'm shopping and going from indoors to the outdoors. In this south Louisiana summer humidity after 3 hrs. I must re-swirl this foundation to bring it back to life. Honestly, I've never used a foundation that will stand up all day without any touch ups outdoors in this extremely humid climate. I think it's a lost cause. The best one for the staying power I have found was Estee Lauder's Double Wear, and I can't stand the way it feels so heavy and mask like on my face. Yuck.
Revlon PhotoReady Rating: ♥♥♥

Many have compared Revlon PhotoReady to Make Up For Ever's HD Foundation. I would say that it is comparable only in the results seen in photographs. They both achieve a natural looking flawless finish in pictures. In real life, looking at a persons face in front of you, then you can see that the two foundations are totally different. The staying power of both foundations are about the same. The MUFE HD may last about an hour or two longer with no touch ups, than Revlon PhotoReady.

If you pump each of these foundations out in a little dot on your hand side by side you can easily see the difference in each of them. The PhotoReady has a noticeable shimmer in the foundation. Were as the MUFE HD foundation has no noticeable shimmer at all. Blended out the PhotoReady's shimmer is not noticeable on my skin indoors at all, but outdoors there is still some subtle shimmer visible. MUFE HD blended out just leaves a healthy/dewy glow with absolutely no shimmer at all. In my opinion, if you don't mind a little shimmer in the day give the PhotoReady a try. For sure if you are having a fun night out on the town and will be taking lots of pics this will be a great foundation.

For those of us who are not fans of the slight shimmer in the daylight, but still love a healthy dewy glow like the MUFE HD foundation gives, but the price tag on MUFE HD seems a little steep. Give this method a try. I use this as my every single day foundation and it looks amazing in person as well as in pictures.
I mix equal parts of Revlon PhotoReady and Revlon ColorStay foundations. I use my SS197 to swirl and buff my foundation in. I have also used the MAC187 brush to stipple this foundation and this method also achieves very good results. I just prefer the SS197 swirl and buff method because it is faster. Using this foundation mixture cuts down on the shimmer that the PhotoReady has on it's own while still leaving a dewy finish on the face. The Revlon ColorStay brings up your coverage a level and adds to the staying power. I always get at least 2-3 hrs. more out of my foundation this way, depending on the climate. In other words, it gives you all of the great factors of each foundation and combines it into on. Nothing Better!

♥ Marine Life Highlight Powder- OMG! The hype about this product is outrageous! Let me tell you it is not just talk! This stuff is absolutely the most beautiful thing I've ever seen from MAC, both in the pan and on the cheeks. I have no idea why they call this highlight powder, because I don't think even the darkest woman of color could wear this as a highlight, it is blush. A beautiful coral/pink blush with a golden shimmer, at least for the first 3 times I applied it. The golden shimmer is an over-spray and is gone within the first few times you swirl your brush in it. This fact turned a lot of ladies off of this product at first. They were like, over spray...booo! Well, even after I found out that it was truly an over spray I still fancied Marine Life. Being the total blush whore that I am I could see the beauty of this long after the sparkle had faded. It did not let me down. All I can say is thank goodness I got a back up. My MAC store pre-sold all of their Marine Life powders before the release date, and that is saying a whole lot being that most of the LE products can be found here for some time after the release date. I don't think there are very many MAC addicts down here in south Louisiana. This is not the case with Marine Life, it's all gone, trust me I've called every MAC store in Louisiana there's none left. I guess it's best for me though. I think I was going a little crazy wanting a back up for my back up. lol. It's just that good. If you can't get your hands on Marine Life do not pay evilbay prices. I would apply a light dusting of Intenso, pile on some Hipness, and be happy, because you look fabulous! I learned my lesson about paying for hype with cash. I bought Parrot eyeshadow for $30 on evilbay, never again! Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥- off the charts!!

♥ Sweet & Punchy Eyeshadow- I skipped this one even-though it was originally on my list. I brought in my Tempting quad and compared it to Sharp. Way to close from me to get S&P. The only differences was that S&P was slightly more gold than Sharp and of course S&P is a veluxe pearl and Sharp is a satin. Now, if I didn't have Sharp or Rated R (exact dupe) this would be mine. I love golden toned greens. I had a chance to play around with it and it would be a great addition to anyone's collection. Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥

♥ Humid Eyeshadow- I've had my Humid eyeshadow for quite sometime now. I bought it at the CCO several months back. It's a beautiful frosted, deep shade of true green. I use it mostly for the outer V or in the crease. Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥

♥ Firecracker Eyeshadow- I've been on a kick for orangy/coral eyeshadows lately and this one was a must have for me. Firecracker is a beautiful coral/orangy/pinkish veluxe pearl shade. I can't wait to pair this one up with my Coral Crepe Paint Pot. Yummm. You'll love it if you're not afraid of a little color. Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥

♥ Sun Rush Lustre Drops- Aww damn, this always happens to me. I get so excited about a product and when I finally get it I'm totally unimpressed. This is sadly the case in Sun Rush. I didn't even swatch this in the store I just knew I was going to love them, because already I have the Pink Rebel Lustre Drops from the Style Warriors collection and I absolutely love them. They give the most gorgeous J. Lo glow ever. I was really hoping that the Sun Rush would do the same but be a bit more of a bronzey glow. Wrong! I think that the Sun Rush ones are just so close to my natural skin tone that they just disappear into my skin. Seriously, it looks like nothing is there. $18.50 for a bottle of nothing. I don't think so. I'll be returning these. :( Maybe if you are fair say NC20 at the darkest, I think these would look nice and show up as a bronzey glow. For me personally this is not the case. Rating: ♥

♥ Opulash Mascara- Since I didn't end up getting the Sweet & Punchy eyeshadow I went ahead and picked up some of the Opulash Mascara. I am a total ZoomLash freek. I wear the zoomlash everyday with a little bit of Maybelline Lash Stiletto WP on top just to make the zoomlash water resistant. I have PlushLash as well and I really like the formulation, but that dang brush drives me insane, why it is flat on one side. I don't get it??? What the heck is that for? I haven't opened my Opulash yet, but I have high hopes for it. I'll let you know what I think a bit later.

♥ Hipness Blush- Now, lots of girls are saying that the Fafi Hipness is sooo much better than the To The Beach Hipness. They say that the TTB Hipness is so chalky and la la la. Guess what, I think that they both are some what chalky. Yep, and I still love both of them. They both have good color payoff and blend well into the skin. Honestly, I think it maybe a good thing that they are slightly chalkier than some of the other blushes. The chalkiness makes it a little harder to really load this stuff up on your brush with just one swipe. With this vibrant shade that's a good thing, unless you like the "slap ya mama" look. So, in my opinion, To The Beach Hipness is a must have if you want a back up for your Fafi one or if you missed the Fafi's release. I was incredibly lucky and got mine at the CCO. :)

Sooo Pissed!! T3 Pro Blowdryer is Broken!- Rant & Review

So, I was doing my usual blow-out on my hair tonight. I was about 1/2 way done with my hair. I turn my T3 off and set it on the bathroom counter to section off another piece of hair. Got my hair on my large T3 round brush, reached for my blow-dryer. All ready to go, I clicked the power button. Guess what I heard .... Eeeeeekkkkkekekekekekek! What the fuck! I was scared to turn the damn thing back on. I thought it was going to blow up in my hand. Yep, I think the fricking fan broke! So, pissed off! Just so I could get my hair finished, I had to bring out my recently purchased T3 Bespoke Overnight Dryer. Damn that Pro!

Ok, I'm calm now... I purchased my T3 Pro 7 months ago at the Sephora Friends and Family sale. The orginal price was I believe $119.99 and I got the 25% discount + tax, so I paid something like $97.88 for it. I know that is a great price for a T3 dryer, but don't waste your money on this one. It is garbage and tears up way before it is even broken in good. I had a cheap ass WHAL dryer before I bought this one and even though it was horrible for the health of my hair it lasted me 2 years before I gave it away and it is still working for my DH's cousin. Go ahead and just fork out the extra cash if there is anyway possible and get the Featherweight or Evolution. Save your money up and don't get screwed. Don't get me wrong the T3 Pro gave me the best and quickest blow-out I have ever had, but whatever when it only last 7 months.

MAC To The Beach Collection- Release Date: 5/27/10

This morning I called my dear sweet Debbie (manager) at my MAC store in Dillard's and pre-orderd my To The Beach items.

♥ 3 Marine Life Highlight Powders
I order 2 for myself and one for a friend. I am loving the design that is embossed on the powder the gold shimmer maybe a little to shiny for my liking, but no big deal because it is an over spray and will be gone in just a couple of uses. I will say this as well, if you have Hipness from the Fafi Collection you do not have to get this, as they are kinda similar. MLHP maybe slightly more pigmented from what I hear, but I'll let you know what I think about it when I get my order. I already have Hipness from Fafi, but my love of it gives me good reason to get MLHP as well.

As well as Sweet & Punchy eyeshadow. Everyone says that the Sweet & Punchy is so simular to Rated R eyeshadow that if you already have Rated R to skip Sweet & Punchy. I totally agree they are so similar I can't tell the difference in the swatches. Fortunately, for me I will be able to score Sweet & Punchy since I missed out on Rated R.

♥ Firecracker Eyeshadow
I'm on a kick for beautiful shades of orange eyeshadows, and this one is right up my alley. Now, if I could only get my hands on Firespot eyeshadow, which was released ages ago I would be all set. Doubt I'll ever find it though. This one is not similar to Hot Hot Hot eyeshadow, if you are wondering about that.

♥ Sun Rush Lustre Drops.
I know $18.50 for this little bottle seems pretty steep, and it is, MAC really needs to stop raising their prices. But, really this is the most amazing stuff ever. I scored the Pink Rebel Lustre Drops from the first release (Style Warrior Collection) from a nice lady on Specktra. I am totally in love with this stuff, it gives the most glamorous summer, J Lo glow that I have ever gotten from any product like it. Beautiful, just beautiful. I would skip something on my list to get this.

Sally Hansen Complete Manicure Polish- Guilty Pleasure- Rating: ♥♥♥♥

This polish didn't receive 5 hearts only because of the expensive price for a drugstore polish ($7.50), and of course for the horrible brush that all of the SH Complete Manicure polishes have. If you don't mind the brush or the high price these are perfect. I use a nail polish brush that I bought from Sally's, and next time I buy any of these I will wait until there is a buy one get one free sale.

This is a gorgeous metallic/shimmery (not glittery) shade of antique gold. I was kind of afraid to purchase this one because usually a metallic shade always leaves noticeable brush strokes. So, for those of you who are weary about purchasing these for that reason, have no fear. This polish gives a great finish with very few (if any) noticeable brush strokes. The formula is neither to thick or thin. It last me for 4 days. I'm sure would last most a little longer probably 4-6 days. If you are looking for a good gold polish that you can easily pick up from your local drugstore that is not too bright/yellow gold take a look for this one. Love it!

Coast Scents New Metal Mania 88 Palette Review & Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥

Gorgeous! I paid $24.95 for my 88 Metal Mania palette from Coastal Scents, and received 15% off my order during their entire store sale a few weeks ago. Like all the other 88 palettes, this palette contains 88 dime size eyeshadows. The size of each individual shade may seem small, but I promise it will last you a long while. I bought my 88 Warm palette 8 months ago and have only made a slight dip in two of the shades that I use often (they look similar to soft brown & satin taupe). There are just so many choices it will take you forever to even use each of the shades twice.

There are several shades from each color spectrum with lots of bronze and gold shades included. Oddly, there is only one blue shade, but it is very pretty and reminds me of MAC's Tilt. The shades in this palette are unlike any of the other shades in any of the other CS 88 palettes. I own the Original, Warm, and I had the Shimmer palette (gave it away). I see very few similar shades in this palette compared to the other palettes.
This palette is called the Metal Mania palette for a reason. All of the shades have a high shine/chrome finish. High Shine/Chrome NOT Glittery. That is important to me. I have been out of the glittery stage for years now, and I'm glad those days are over. Kind of tacky if you ask me. But, my how I do love the high sheen of vibrant colors this palette gives to your eye look.

For those of you who never wear frosty type finish, this palette may not be for you. But, I love it. I always use the Metal Mania shades on the lid and then apply Matte shades from my CS 88 Warm Palette or 88 Original palette to the crease and as a highlight. This way it balances out your look and is not so bling-ing.

The pigmentation of the shades are pretty good. Imo, the color pay off is better that that of the NYX 10 palettes. Though, I like the NYX 10 palettes too. The texture of most of the Metal Mania shades are very smooth and soft. I am impressed. This palette is wonderful if you you love having lots of choices of good quality eyeshadows for a great price. You can find some of the 88 palettes for a cheaper price on e-bay, but as of now I have not found this one for sale there. It maybe there and I just have not looked hard enough. Really, I prefer to buy from CS regardless of the deals on e-bay, because I know that they are a reputable company and have received wonderful customer service from this company, and have placed countless orders with them. I say, "better safe than sorry". I will order this palette again from them when it comes time for a new one. Yes, I love it! Ladies! My Sephora Nail Polish Haul Came Today : )

I just opened my box from Sephora! I ordered 5 different polishes last week and it came in today. All of the polishes are amazing! I ordered Illamasqua's Muse, OPI for Sephora's Leaf Him at the Altar, Ocean Love Potion, Under My Trench Coat, and Metro Chic. I will be posting swatches and reviews of all the Sephora for OPI nail polishes I got today in one post and a different post for Illamaqua's Muse and Milf (which was a gift from my best girlie). Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure- Yellow Kitty- Rating:♥♥♥

This is a gorgeous bright, creamy muted yellow polish. It reminds me of a Banana Cream Popsicle, perfect for a hot summer day. The formulation of these polishes are pretty good. I've had the polish on for 3 days now and there is no chipping. It took 2 coats of polish to get it completely opaque. Though I added a 3rd just for good measure. There where a few things that turned me off about the whole SH Complete Solon Manicure line. The brush totally sucks. Literally, the brush seems to soak up all the polish and no matter how much polish you think is on the brush it's not. This makes for an uneven application. The shape of the brush is another turn off. I think that SH was trying to knock off OPI's brush design, but failed miserably. I don't really care for the large brush design from OPI or SH because I have relatively small nails and I am quite shaky, so the big style brushes don't leave me any "wiggle room". However, I can still handle and achieve a neat mani/pedi with the OPI brush if I am careful. SH tried to be innovative with her brush and did this senseless tapering design on the tip of the brush. I don't quite understand what the point was in tapering the brush. However, I do know that it makes it almost impossible to create a clean edge at the nail bed. One more thing is the price. I paid $7.50USD for this polish at CVS, which is a ridiculous price for a drugstore polish. I could have bought an OPI or Essie polish for this price. So, it boils down to this...If you find the SH polishes BOGOF get the shades you love the most. When you get them home and are ready to do your mani/pedi do not use this brush. Buy a nail polish brush from your local beauty supply store (Sally's) or you can take the brush out of a polish you already have and clean it well with nail polish remover and use that one to apply the SH CSM polishes with. I know that this seems like a lot of BS to have to deal with to use these polishes with good results, but in the case of Yellow Kitty this shade is totally worth it. Yellow Kitty is such a beautifully fun and unique shade. I also purchased two more gorgeous shades of SH CSM polishes. I have Fairy Teal (creamy greyed, teal blue) and Guilty Pleasure (shimmering bronzed gold), so check back for those reviews and swatches.

Sigma SS197 Review & Comparision- Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥

Order this brush now! I'm so serious. This brush has quickly became HG for me. It has beat out all of my other foundation brushes hands down. The only brush that I think might would give it a run for it's money is the MAC180. I really can't even say that for sure, just because I don't have it. Besides the MAC180 is discontinued and there is no telling how much you would have to pay for it if you are lucky enough to find one. Really, just go get this one.

I think that I mentioned in the "back in stock" post that the SS197 is a synthetic hair brush. I must retract that. The SS197 is an all natural hair brush, which is the reason why I would compare the hairs to the MAC180. The hairs on the SS197 are very soft, but dense, so the brush easily holds the shape and allows you to swirl away when applying your foundation. I have been using mine with liquid foundations only. I have not tried to use it for any cream or powder products, and I probably won't just for the simple fact that I already have brushes for those, and I really am only looking to use it for liquid foundation. It's wonderful for that, but I would imagine would also be great for say a powder mineral foundation. I'm not so sure about the creams just because it has natural hairs, but who knows till you try it.

The ferrule of the SS197 is bigger around that the ferrules on the MAC187, 188 and 130. The hairs are also denser than these. Not saying that these MAC brushes are not as good as the SS197 at all. These brushes are just made for a different application. The MAC187, 188, and 130 are made of a mix of natural and synthetic hairs intended for stippling and the SS197 is made of all natural hairs intended for us swirlier. Making the SS197 at totally different brush. The only reason why I am comparing them is just to give you an idea of the size. Now I do prefer the swirl method over the stipple method. Just because it is a quicker application with flawless results. It also seems to me that even if you layer your foundation to archive a full coverage look, with this brush it looks less cakey than when you stipple your foundation. Maybe it's just me?

Last comparison I promise...If you could imagine a fatter, fuller, waaaay softer, natural haired Sonia Kashuk flat top brush you would have the SS197. I have to elaborate on the difference in the softness. The SK flat top brush is sooo damn scratchy. It took me 4 times to deep condition this brush before it was comfortable on my face. Finally, I could use it and the results were pretty good. I just found that since the brush is a little skinny (not as full) that it makes the brush little flimsy and gives a slightly streaky, uneven application. It's just too wiggly, I would say.

Honestly ladies, I am super satisfied with all of my Sigma brushes the SS197 is just one more great one to add to my list.

I will be posting the comparison pics of the SS197 the MAC187, 188, and the SK Flat Top tomorrow. I don't have the MAC130 or MAC180 so unfortunately I won't be posting those. Sorry. If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask in the comment box. I loved to talk to y'all. : )

For all you ladies including myself who loved the look of Channel Jade polish, but not the price...meet Demon Roberts 1968. It is the closest dupe I've ever seen. DR 1968 is a limited edition polish that was first released last year and now is being re-release May 1, 2010. I passed on it last year and have regretted it ever since. Not again! I ordered mine last night along with another of the SS224. The SS197 is a large synthetic flat top kabuki. I'm hoping it will be what I wanted the MAC130 to be. The MAC130 was a total let down because it is so frickin little. I guess the MAC130 would be ok for a cream blush or some detailed foundation work, but I wanted a true foundation brush. You know, a big one, kind of the size of the MAC187. I hope it is. Well, they should be here in a few days and I'll let you know how if I love it or hate it.

Rose Facial Mist (MAC Fix + Rose) Review & Recipe: Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥

Rose Facial Mist (MAC Fix + Rose): For those of us who were lucky enough to get to try MAC's Fix + Rose and are soooo sad that we have ran out, here's an alternative. Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel & Thayers Alcohol Free Cucumber Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera. The ingrediants are so simular. The only two main ingrediants that the Fix + Rose has that the Thayers mixture doesn't have is Green Tea & Matricaria/Camomile Extract. I was a little put off by this, knowing how great these ingrediants can be for the skin. But, after doing some detailed research I found out that Aloe Vera contains just about the same minerals, vitamins, etc. as the missing ingrediants, and preforms the same job as they do. Actually, the Aloe Vera is even better and has more skin benifits than Green Tea and Camomile combined. Amazing. This can be used before you apply your makeup to give a moisturized base, as a setting mist after your foundation is applied, or you can drop a bottle in the frig for a refreshing recharge in the hot summer months.

Now, lets talk price. The regular price of MAC's Rose Fix + was $19.50 USD. That means that this stuff is $5.74 per ounce. I was lucky enough to find mine at the CCO for $13.75 USD, still $4.04 per ounce.
The Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel is $9.95 for a 12 oz. bottle on the Thayers web-site, which brings it to $0.82 per oz. The Thayers Alcohol Free Cucumber Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera is the same price for the same amount. You can find these at you local GNC for a little cheaper too, but just incase you can't find it this is what the maximum price would be. You can pick up a 12 oz. bottle of destiled water for about $3 just about anywhere. The destiled water is $0.25 per ounce. So, since we are using 1 oz. of each product in each 3 ounce bottle of mist, the price per bottle is around $1.89 per 3 ounce bottle. Now that's what I'm talking about! You will have enough product to make 12- 3 oz. bottles of mist for $23.00. That's damn near the same price as one bottle of MAC's Fix + Rose.

Rose and Cucumber Witch Hazel, Asprin Toner- Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥

Rose and Cucumber Witch Hazel, Asprin Toner Recipe:
1 empty 2.5 bottle- I used an old bottle of Neutrogena Healthy Skin Face Lotion, which has a pump.
1 1/4 oz. Thayers Alcohol Free Rose Petal Witch Hazel
1 1/4 oz. Thayers Alcohol Free Cucumber Witch Hazel with Organic Aloe Vera
5 325 mg. uncoated Aspirin (2- 325 mg. aspirin per ounce of Witch Hazel)
1/2 tsp. warm water
1 disposable, paper bathroom cup

In the disposable bathroom cup drop in your 5 aspirin and your warm water. Mix the aspirin around a bit with your finger or clean spoon. To the aspirin paste add about 1/2 of either of the witch hazel blends. You just want enough liquid so that it is easy to pour. Bend your paper cup to form a sort of spout and carefully pour the mixture into your empty bottle. Add the rest of the witch hazel blends and shake it up. All done!

When you use the toner just pump a bit on to your fingers and dab on your face. If you would like you can then come back and wipe your face with a cotton pad. Applying the toner directly to the cotton pad wastes your product, because it is absorbing in the pad and not going on your face.

I have hormonal acne prone skin, that tends to be mostly on the slightly dry side, and is sensitive to any changes I make in skincare or foundation. I have to be very careful with my routine, any change in my products will make my skin freak out causing acne, dryness, or oilyness on my nose and/or in between my eye brows. I'm also in my late 20's, so treatment and prevention go hand in hand as far as skincare is concerned. I treat my acne and skin discolorations. I have a few slight discolored spots on my cheeks from sun exposure in my late teen years, trying to be a bronzed goddess. Very dumb of me, but your clueless about these things when your young. I try to prevent acne, more discoloration, wrinkles, and dryness. I am a total drugstore gal when it comes to skincare. There are great products you can find for a good price at the drugstore instead of spending big bucks on department store products that work just the same. You just have to know what to get. I have been using this skin regimen for the past 9 months with great success and a soft, clear face. I know that we all have different skin types, but even if your skin type is totally different than mine this regimen could work for you by just adjusting a bit to fit what your skin needs. If you're oily slack up on some of the moisturizers I use or don't use any at all. You may have to play around with it a bit to get the perfect regimen for you. For me, this is the best. Every Morning: (Mon.-Sun. am.)
Step 1: AcneFree Oil-Free Purifying Cleanser with 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide (Acne Treatment Cleanser)
Step 2: AcneFree Renewing Toner Skin Balancing Formula (Acne Treatment/Toner) or my homemade Rose Water Witch Hazle & Aspirin Toner

Step 3: Eucerin Sensitive Skin Everday Protection Face Lotion SPF 30 (SPF Moisturizer)

I start off cleansing my face with the AcneFree Cleanser using my face brush in a circular motion. I rinse the cleanser off, pat dry. Then, I apply the AcneFree Toner to my fingers and pat it all over my face, kind of like a guy uses aftershave. After, I fallow by applying the Eucerin SPF moisturizer by dotting tiny dots all over my face and gently rubbing in. I allow that to fully soak in. Make sure you rub this moisturizer in very well because it contains a sunscreen and it will leave a yucky white cast on your face. Then I apply my foundation.

Every Night: (Mon.-Sun. pm.)
Step 1: Johnson & Johnson's Baby Oil Gel (Eye Makeup Remover)
Step 2: Almay Oil-Free Makeup Remover Toilettes (Makeup Remover)
Step 3: AcneFree Oil-Free Purifying Cleanser with 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide(Acne Treatment Cleanser) (skip Thurs. pm)
Step 4: AcneFree Repair Lotion Time Released Benzoyl Peroxide (Cream Acne Treatment)
Step 5: Neutrogena Ageless Intensives Tone Correcting Serum Night (Discoloration Treatment)
Step 6: Eucerin Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Sensitive Skin Creme (Moisturizer/ Wrinkle Prevention)

First, like everyone else I stark by taking off my makeup. I apply a fragrance free baby oil gel to my eye lids and rub it in a bit to loosen my eyeliner and mascara. Then, I use the Almay Toilette and finish removing the residue on my eyes and the makeup on my face. After that, I cleanse my face with the AcneFree just like I do in the morning. Then, I fallow by applying a thin layer of the AcneFree Repair Lotion to my forehead and my temples. I use my hands to apply the thin layer and I do not rub it in. I just let it soak in on its own. Next, I apply the Neutrogena Tone Correcting Serum to my undereye area and along my cheek bones. I don't rub this in much either. I let it do it's own thing. After everything has soaked in a bit I apply the Eucerin Q10 by dotting it on the bottom 1/3 of my face, starting with my nose down to my chin and message it in until all of it has absorbed in my skin.

Every Other Night: (Mon., Wed., Fri. pm)
Step 3: Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Power Clear Scrub
I add the Neutrogena Oil-Free Scrub to the beginning of my nightly regimen, after I have taken off my makeup. Then, I just fallow my same nightly routine as I normally would. For the scrub, I start with a damp face then I apply the scrub and message it in circular motions with my fingers just to get it evened out all over my face. Then, I come back with my face brush and really give it a good scrubbing.

Once a Week at Night: (Thursday pm.)
Step 3: Homemade Honey and Asprin Mask (click here for my Asprin Mask Recipes)
Once a week I use my homemade Honey and Asprin mask instead of the AcneFree cleanser. I use it on a night that I will not be using the Neutrogena Oil-Free Scrub. This mask is great and helps along with the rest of the AcneFree System to keep my skin blemish free.
I know this is the longest freaking post ever, but I hope that it is full of useful info that you can use to help keep you face looking like you are 22 yrs. old or at the least out of the acne stage. Asprin Mask Recipes For All Types of Skin- How To

Basic Aspirin Mask Recipe:
6 uncoated aspirin
1/2 Tbs. warm water
1 1/2 Tbs. Facial Product

Directions: Place 6 aspirin in a paper plate or plastic tray. Drop warm water over the aspirin to dissolve. Mix the aspirin around a bit to form a gritty paste. You will then mix in the paste with the appropriate facial product from the list below according to what skin type needs. After your mask is all mixed up you will apply it with you finger in a even layer on your face. The mask doesn't really need to be thick. It just needs to be evenly distributed all over the face. Then, let your mask dry for at least 10 mins. You can increase the time depending on your skin type. Very Dry for 10 min., Dry for 15 min., Oily and Very Oily 20 mins. I don't recommend leaving it on for more than 20 minutes, because it can easily be to drying. After your mask has dried dampen your finger tips and lightly scrub in your mask. Do not remove the mask, we're just trying to get off the loose particles right now. When the loose particles are all gone, we will then wet our finger tips again and scrub more vigorously. Wet your finger tips again and scrub. Repeat until all the mask is gone. Just a * Tip: For this step I like to use my facial brush to scrub with. I scrub and run the brush under the water and repeat until the mask is gone. After, I splash my face with lukewarm water just to make sure no residue is left behind. I always fallow the mask with a moisturizer suitable for your skin type, unless your skin is extremely oily.

Large Pores:
1 1/2 Tbs. Queen Helen Mint Julip Mask

Aging Skin:
1 1/2 Tbs. Queen Helen Mud Mask

Sensitive Skin:
1 1/2 Tbs. Aloe Vera Gel

Dry Skin:
1 1/2 Tbs. Honey or Plain Yogurt

Oily Skin:
1 1/2 Tbs. Cleanser for Oily Skin

Very Oily Skin:
1 1/2 Tbs. Cleanser for Oily Skin
1 tsp. Lemon Juice

Very Dry Skin:
1 1/2 Tbs. Honey or Plain Yogurt
1 tsp. Jojoba Oil or Vitamin E Oil (you can squeeze out about 3 gel capsules)

* Tip: Jojoba Oil or Vitamin E Oil (1 tsp.) can be added to any of the other recipes for added moisture.
* Tip: Lemon Juice (1 tsp.) can be added to any of the other recipes to zap oil.

Zap That Zit: Night Time Spot Treatment:
1 uncoated aspirin
2 drops of warm water
1 pea size drop of acne spot treatment

Directions: Place the aspirin in your clean palm, add the drops of water on top of aspirin, dissolve. Add the acne spot treatment of your choice, and mix with your finger a bit. Apply the mixture directly on your blemish. Go to sleep and let it work it's magic. In the morning the zit has been zapped. If you catch the pimple as soon as you feel it start to come out, it will be completely gone. For a serious monster zit, you may have to use this for 2 or 3 nights, but it will be gone after that.

* Tip: I like to use an acne spot treatment that contains benzoyl peroxide instead of the salicylic acid. This gives that zit a one, two punch. I mix the aspirin with either the AcneFree Repair Lotion or a little Clean & Clear PersaGel 10. They both work great.

Asprin Masks- Review- Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥

The aspirin mask is a life saver for many people including myself. It's a tried and true home remedy for acne, enlarged pores, and redness. Aspirin contains a derivative of salicylic acid and an anti-inflammatory which work wonders for treating these skin problems. I must say that the aspirin masks may not be for everyone. The salicylic acid found in the 6 aspirin that are recommended in the mask recipes are a much more concentrated level than you find in most over the counter acne treatments. Therefore, the aspirin mask can be extremely harsh and drying on very dry, sensitive, or rosacea skin types. I'm not saying that people with these skin types should not try the mask. But, I am saying that you may need to adjust the amount of aspirin you use to accommodate your skins reaction to it. You may also need to adjust the amount of time you leave the mask on for. If your skin gets dry and flaky, I would decrease the aspirin by one pill and decrease the time by 5 minutes. Then, try again until you get the results you desire. I also recommend fallowing the aspirin mask with a moisturizer suitable for your skin. I have skin that is on the dryish side so I always fallow the mask with a nice coat of Eucerin Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Creme. I have used various recipes of this mask approximately once a week for the past 5 months and my skin looks fantastic. You can use the mask more often than I do especially if you acne is more on the severe side, but I wouldn't use it more that 3 times a week. I think it would be way to drying if you use it more than that.

Bottom Line: It's great stuff just use it carefully and experiment with it until you get it right for you.
Aspirin Mask Recipes For All Types of Skin- How To

Acne Free Treatment System Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5%- Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥

This acne 3 step treatment system has been said to be better than ProActive. I can't say whether or not I agree because I never bought the ProActive line. The only reason why is because the AcneFree System works great for me. I feel like why should I buy a more expensive product when the cheaper one works for me? You can purchase this stuff at just about anywhere, CVS, Walgreens ect., Wal-Mart, Target, and SAM's carries it too. It costs about $20 USD, but I bought some at SAM's for $17 USD a while back.

I fall in the 25-30 yrs. age category and it wasn't until I reached this age that I ever had any problems with acne. All through my teen years when we're supposed to get acne I never did. I mean, I would get the little "warning acne" letting me know that it was almost "that time of the month". Even then, I never had a true break out, always just one or two. Back then I would just spot treat the blemish and be on my way. Ever since I turned 25 it has been an on going battle to keep my face clear. I guess my hormones fluctuated from having my 2 babies and the consequences is "hormonal acne". Darn it! I wouldn't call my current acne breakouts either. It's more like "acne prone"...I get these tiny bumps on my forehead and by my temples. I think that these are probably caused by my sweat and the natural oils from my hair (my hair is not oily) clogging my pores. Occasionally, I get one on my chin at the corner of my mouth. I used Aveeno Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser (salicylic acid) for a long time and it worked pretty good. But, in the summer of '09 my skin went crazy and it seemed like nothing I used was working. I was still getting the bumps on my forehead, and my Avenno wasn't doing a thing to get rid of them or prevent them. I tried spreading the Clean & Clear spot treatment all over my forehead and going to bed to let it soak in. Nothing...

I went on the hunt for something that would really help. I had seen the AcneFree System at my Wal-Mart and wondered what it was all about. I turned to my trusted MakeupAlly for reviews, it sounded great to me, and I purchased it the next time I went into town. I got the exact set that is pictured in the MUA reviews. The results were great for me, but you must give it at least two weeks to really start working, at least that was the case for me.

I use the cleanser in the morning and at night. I remove my makeup and smooth a small amount all over my damp face with clean fingers. I prefer to use my fingers because if you use a cotton pad like the bottle suggest, the product soaks in the cotton pad and you don't get the full strength on your face. Then, I scrub the cleanser in using circular motions with my hand held face brush ($2 from Sally's). Next, I rise and fallow with the AcneFree Renewing Toner. Again, I don't use a cotton pad for this either. I pour a little at a time into my hand and apply it to my face like a guy applies an aftershave. I know it sounds weird, but it works, and you're not wasting your product. I only use the toner in the morning, because I found it a little to drying to use both am and pm. But, that's just me. If your skin is on the oily side you might want to use it morning and night. Last, comes the AcneFree Repair Lotion. I use my fingers for this one too, and only at night. I don't like using it in the morning because of the heaviness of the moisturizer. It seems to make my skin to oily for day. I tried using it day and night, but when I applied my foundation after the moisturizer dried, about 2 hrs. later my face looked yucky. My skin looked oily and my foundation looked really caky and flaky. So I just stopped using the Repair Lotion in the morning. When I first started using the system it took about 1 week for my skin to stop purging. Within this time my skin was pretty broken-out. I had several blemishes. The beginning of the second week they started clearing up. By the third week I was all clear and have been ever since. So, as far as the AcneFree System Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5% goes, I love it!

I do have a skin routine that I fallow like religion so that my skin always looks it's best. I will tell you more about all of that stuff in my Daily Skin Regimen post. I will be posting that this week, so keep an eye out for more good info.

NYX Runway Collection- Versus 10 Color Palette: Rating ♥♥♥♥1/2

Top Row: This is a great palette to have in your collection. I love these to travel with, compact and no fuss. The top row is full of creamy, taupey brown tones with a shimmery shade of black. The first shade is a creamy beige tone that has a finish/texture that is simular to the MAC matte2 shades. The second, is a mid-tone camel brown with a satin finish. Third, my favorite, we have a frosty shade of light creamy brown tinged taupe. Fourth, we have a frosty grey/brown taupe with a buttery soft finish that is comparable to a veluxe pearl, and is very simular to MAC's Smoke & Diamonds. Last, is the dark charcoal black with silver pearl shimmer. The texture of this shade is slighly more chalky than the others, but is still nice for the price.

MAC DUPES (L to R): Shade 1: Blanc Type- Shade 2: Era- Shade 3: Dazzlelight- Shade 4: Smoke & Diamonds- Shade 5: Black Tied with a slightly chalky texture.

Bottom Row: On the bottom row we have some softer shades of purple with a slight pink base.The first shade is a deep plumed purple with a soft texture and a satin finish. Second, is what I would call a medium toned spring purple with a velvet finish. This shade is slightly chalkier in texture than most of the shades. Third, is a blue based pink with pink pearl that has a very soft texture and a veluxe finish. Forth, is a pale lilic with a velvet finish and a slightly chalky texture. Last is a creamy/white shade with a frost finish and a buttery soft texture.

MAC DUPES (L to R): Shade 1: Fig. 1 with a soft satin finish- Shade 2: Purple Haze with a velvet finish and chalky texture- Shade 3: Swish with a soft veluxe finish- Shade 4: ??? pale chalkish lilic- Shade 5: Nylon with a finish and texture that screams veluxe pearl.

China Glaze- Purple Panic (neon) Rating: ♥♥♥

Let's start with the things I love about this polish....The Color!! It is the most vivid, hot fuchsia pink with a slight reflect of a purple undertone. Perfect for a hot, flirty summer nail. I just wish the formula for this polish was as knock-out as the shade is. Aw man, this stuff was a pain in the butt to get right. Purple Panic is a neon shade and neon shades are notorious for having a dull/flat/matte looking finish. This one is not an exception to the rule. That is the easy part to deal with though. You just need to add your most glossy top coat to the top and vahla, just that easy. Hum I wish, this polish also had some major drying issues. The first time I applied this polish I applied 1 medium coat and 3 min. later fallowed up with a 2nd medium coat, 3 minutes after the 2nd coat I added my Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Top coat. I ended up with a gloppy mess that never dried. So, I started over...1 very thin coat of polish, 5 minutes to dry, 2nd thin coat of polish, 5 min. to dry, 3rd thin coat of polish, 5 min. to dry, then Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Top Coat. It was quite time consuming. I must say that the final result was gorgeous. A beautiful mani with a brush stroke no where insight. So, yeah I'll be keeping it and using it again this summer, but I will have to use this one when I have the time to spend on the application. I will also keep my neon polish collection down to Purple Panic and Turn Up The Turquoise (another CG neon) and that is it. These two shades were just to pretty to pass up and since I only have two I should be able to find the time to apply them.

My Summer Mani and Pedi: China Glaze: Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥

I am a sucker for a beautiful bright mani/pedi for the spring and summer months. For the most amazing color selection I turn to China Glaze. It doesn't matter what your favorite shade may be, they are bound to have several that you fall in love with. I like pretty much any color as long as it suits me. I do tend to lean towards blues, purples, pinks, corals, and reds, but I'm easily swayed in any color direction. China Glaze finishes range from a sheer, cream, shimmer, and glitter. I tend to stick with either a shimmer or a cream finish. I sometimes will do a sheer on my mani, but never on my pedi. I never go for the glitters. I'm over 21 so no glitter for me. I know is probably just me. I wore glitter nail polish before I could wear makeup on my face, so it reminds me of a young look. Though, I have seen ladies my age wear it and pull it off. I just don't think I could.

China Glaze's (CG's) formula is usually great (you always have a few bad apples) and gives results that last in between 3-5 days, depending on the top coat I use. Seche Vite gives me the most lasting results. I would compare the formula and the staying power to Essie's polishes. The only formula I like better than Essie and China Glaze is OPI, we're talking 5-7 day long mani with OPI. I must say that regardless of which formula I use my manis tend to be slightly more short lived than most ladies would be. I put my mani through the ringer, with taking care of my three ^sweet♥'s^ (dh included), cleaning, cooking, and digging in the flower beds my mani takes some extreme abuse. So most lady's manis will stay going strong long after I have made a new color selection. Honestly, I have a routine of changing my polishes on Monday and Thursday nights. I do it this way so that I will have a new shade for the weekdays and another shade for the weekends. I know, pretty silly, but I love it!

I will try my best to post swatches of both of my weekly manis for you this summer. So, keep an eye out for that. It won't be hard to miss as bright as they all are- lol ; ) I hope you love it!

Sigma Essential Brush Kit & Professional Premium Brush Kit- Review: Updated 5/10/10

Sigma Essential Brush Kit

SS150- ♥♥♥♥♥- I love this brush. It is super soft and has a long handle so that you can control your application better. I don't have the MAC150, so I have nothing to compare the Sigma one to. Never the less, this is a must have for setting powder.
* Update 5/10/10: I hear that some people have issues of bleeding and shedding with this brush. My brush has been washed about 5 times now. I have not experienced any of these things with my SS150. When I first received the sets all of the brushes had a stinky plastic/chemical smell. One wash took care of that issue and they all smell fine.

SS187- ♥♥♥- I was really worried about this brush being horrible before I ordered my set. Well, it's not horrible, but it's not amazing either. When I washed it there was barely any bleeding like I was afraid there would be. It's more dense than the MAC187, which I like. The only thing is that I get some slight shedding when I use it...like 5 to 7 hairs. I know that's not a lot and is definitely not a good reason to not buy the brush, but I am a freak about shedding. There is nothing I hate more than to have to pick hairs off my face after I'm done with my foundation. I rather use a dang sponge and that's horrible. I am hoping that the more I use it that the hairs will stop falling out, but my patients are getting thin.
* Update: 5/10/10 ♥♥♥♥: The hairs have finally stopped shedding. No bleeding either.

SS194- ♥♥♥♥♥- I don't use this brush that often for concealer, but when I did it worked just fine. I usually use the SS192 to blot out my concealer under my eye. If you like the smaller size though, you will like this one. Although, I don't really use this brush for concealer. I do love it to blend out my eye primer. It's smaller size and pointy-ish end gives you more control, so the primer goes right where you want it to go. Especially, if you are going to prime your lower lash line area. It's a nice brush to have no matter what you use it for.
* Update 5/10/10: I use this brush to dot on my foundation in sections all over my face before I use my SS197. It is also great for doting concealer on any blemishes. I prefer the SS195 for applying eye primer and base.

SS190- ♥- Never use this brush or the MAC190 to apply your foundation, they're both horrible! Streak City! I have never liked this brush. The only useful thing I can figure out to do with this thing is to apply a tinted moisturizer or a face mask. Since the tinted moisturizer is thinner than foundation it doesn't streak it up.
Update 5/10/10: I gave this brush away.

SS168- ♥♥♥♥♥- This brush quickly became my HG blush/contour brush. I have very high bone structure, and this makes applying my blush a quick and easy task. It pretty much blends it as you go. So, no streaks or blotches. I've had no shedding at all from this brush.
* Update 5/10/10: I am looking to buy another one from some where. I'll let you know if I find them individually for sale.
* Update 5/11/10: ACW has them for sale individually, plus some other good ones. Check it out.

SS275- ♥♥♥- This thing is huge! I don't have a MAC275 to say if it is bigger or whatever, but I do have the MAC272 and it is WAY bigger than it. I really don't have a good use for this one because of it's size, except for maybe a highlight brush??, and I already have a brush I like for that. What do you do with it? It's really a nice brush with the softness and angle and all. I'm just clueless about what to use it for. It's way to big for me to use on the lid. Sigma suggest to use it for application of color in the inner corner. I don't think so. I don't have eyes as big as saucers, and don't know anyone who does. This would be a mess, the color would go every where. Highlight, yes. Crease, maybe. Inner Corners, oh no no no. Outer Corners, Definitely not.
* Update 5/10/10: I use this brush a lot for highlighting the brow. Still not much more to do with it than just highlighting.

SS252- ♥♥♥♥♥- I love this one just as much as the MAC252. I would also say that the MAC252 and the SS252 are two totally different brushes. I love the SS252 for the oval shape and narrower size. Amazing. You will love it. It fits the lid perfectly. It's great for sweeping your color across the lid. The MAC252 is flatter on the tip and is great in it's own way. I love it for pressing in the color on the lid, like foiling pigments and highlighting. In this case I would say get both.
* Update 5/10/10: I'm still in love with this one, and I find myself reaching for it more than my MAC252, SS239, and MAC239. Must have. I would like to get another one.

SS239- ♥♥♥♥
* Update 5/10/10: Yes, the MAC239 is flatter and comes to more of a point at the end than the SS239. They are both great brushes. I do prefer the MAC239 over the SS239 only because of the precision on the end of the brush. But, if you are OCD like I am about keeping your white hair brushes looking new and hate it when your eyeshadows stain your beautiful white hairs (MAC239) the SS239 is a great alternative that won't stain.This is another one I would say you need both brushes. Besides you always need more than one placement brush for eyeshadow.

SS224- ♥♥♥♥♥- The queen of blending brushes. This brush has changed my over blended eye looks forever. Love, Love, Love. I had a smaller version of this brush by Coastal Scents. The Coastal Scents one was a lot more dense and shorter than this one. Little did I know that it's denseness was the only reason why all of my eye looks were coming out looking over blended. Just goes to show you good tools are a must, and this one is wonderful. Lots of girls say that if you have the 217 blender that this one is not needed. Bull Shit. I had a MAC217 before I ever got this brush and still my eye looks were coming out over blended. Sometimes you just need a brush of this shape and most importantly this softness to get the best results.
* Update: I bought a second SS224. My love for this brush is unchanged.

SS219- ♥♥- Ehhh, well I'm not impressed. IMO, this is the worst brush of both sets. Don't get me wrong you can use the brush for placing the shadow on the lower lash line and on the inner tear duct just like with the MAC219. It's just that the SS219 is so much fatter and the tip is not cut nearly as precise as the MAC219. After several uses the roundness on the tip gets even worse. I gave my SS219 a much needed hair cut with a pair of scissors and now it's just fine. I think it is ridiculous that I had to do this, but it did work. This brush is a miss for Sigma and really needs to be redesigned. MAC wins this one hands down. Sell your Sigma one that you get in this set on e-bay, save a little more money to go with it, and buy the MAC219.

SS266-♥♥♥♥♥- Oh yes! This brush is exactly what you need in an angled eyeliner brush. It is small and supper thin. I'm thinking more like the MAC208. It is great to do your brows with because of it's size. It's also nice to get than thin line on the upper lash line and makes the winged look a breeze. I would love to have a few more of this one.

SS209- ♥♥♥♥♥- When I first saw this brush I was like damn it's fat. After I used it I realized that this is exactly what I want when I use a regular pencil eyeliner. I love to use a pencil eyeliner b/c it just seems like I have more control over the pencil ones. The best thing is that this brush is always pointed at the end and never goes flat like a regular pencil liner does, no sharpening needed, ever. Just how you use your pencil eyeliner is how you use this brush. You just have to dip it in the color or you can rub the end of the brush on the pencil eyeliner to pick up the color. Looks great every time.

Sigma Professional Premium Brush Kit

SS134- ♥♥♥♥♥- I didn't think that a brush could get any softer than the MAC134, but Sigma proved me wrong with this one. The SS134 is super soft. You just want to rub it on your face. I love to use this brush for any powder application on the face. I even use it some times to apply a more sheer toned blush or MSF, such as Light Flush or Refined.

SS138- ♥♥♥♥- The quality of this brush is great. I just think it was dumb of Sigma to include this one in the set when they have already included the SS165. I think you only really need one brush of this style and I prefer the MAC165, because it is smaller and more precisely cut. I would have much rather gotten the 109 or 116 (which they don't make, but need to). So, I guess if you like the MAC138 you will probably like this one. Especially since the MAC138 is $52USD and the SS138 is part of the set.
* Update 5/10/10: I still say pick one, the 165 or 138, you don't need both. The thing that is hanging me up is MAC vs. Sigma. I know that the Sigma brush is not as precisely cut as the MAC138, but I've been using the SS138 without any problems. I use it to dust my setting powder on my T-zone and I have used it a couple of times to swirl my blush on the apples of my cheeks. It works just fine. So, if you like the MAC138, I would say that the SS138 would be a good alternative. I find that I use it more than I thought I would and have given my MAC165 a little vacation. One thing is for sure...I have a MAC165 backup that I will be selling. There is no need for me to have a backup of the MAC165 when I already have one, the SS165 and the SS138.

SS131- ♥♥♥♥♥- This duo fiber brush is the best one of both sets. When I washed this one I got no bleeding at all. I'm also very happy that this one doesn't shed at all. I was going to purchase this brush from MAC and I messed around and didn't get it. I'm so happy I did. I didn't have to pay MAC's ridiculous price for it, and it works great. I use this brush to apply blushes that are very pigmented and to apply my beloved MSF.

SS129- ♥♥♥♥♥- Nice and soft. I like to use this one to apply my blush to the apples of my cheeks. It's small enough that the blush goes right were you put it. You know more of a precise placement.

SS165- ♥♥♥♥♥- This brush is one of my favorite face brushes. I use this brush every single day. What don't I use this brush for is the question. I always use it to apply my accentuate powder under my eyes to kind of "set" my concealer. I use it to apply my highlight shade to the top of my cheek bone and use it to contour with. I have also used this brush to apply my blush precisely on the apples of my cheeks. I use it in a swirling motion for that and it works great.

SS192- ♥♥♥♥♥- Yep, I like it. I use this brush to lightly dab in my under eye concealer. The synthetic bristles don't really soak up to much product so it all stays where you put it. The shape fits the under eye area perfectly making quick work of concealing darkness under the eye.

SS227- ♥♥♥- Dang, is this thing huge. There is no way in hell you are going to be able to use this on the lid area, what a freakin' mess that would be. Really, I don't think this would be good as a brow highlight either. It's just to big. This thing is supposed to be an eye brush, but I don't see how the hell your supposed to use it for the eyes. However, I did find a really good use for it...I always apply a loose powder under my eye before I apply my eyeshadow pigments, so the powder will catch any fallout. This brush is great to apply that powder with. It's small enough for you to be able to put the powder right where you want it to go. The brush is stiff enough that when you're ready to take the powder off you can just use flicking motions under the eye and remove the powder.
Update 5/10/10: Figured out one more good use for it. I sometime go out of the lines when I do the outer V on my eye. I use this to clean up the eyeshadow and create the perfect shape on the outer V. So, a handy brush? Yes. A must have brush? Nope.

SS217- ♥♥♥♥♥- Just as good as the MAC217. It's slightly less dense than the MAC217, but not enough to make a difference in your application. I get no shedding from it. This is truly the best of all the multi purpose brushes. I use this to blend out my paint pots, blend any harsh lines on lid, crease application, and to drag out the shadow on the outer corner for a cat-eye look.
* Update 5/10/10: I will be looking for another one of these.

SS222- ♥♥♥♥- Shapelier sister of the 224. This is a good brush if you are looking to apply color it in the crease and just a little on the brow bone (smoke out the crease shade), because it kind of blends as you go. You can also use this as a more precise blender on the outer corner. I like it a lot, but as far as it being a must have in the collection, I would say no. There are already brushes in the collection that do the same thing. I would have rather gotten a different brush, such as the 272 or even a 242.
* Update: I could see where I would love this brush, but the SS222 falls short of my first judgement. I really think this would be amazing to kind of swirl your e/s on the outer V for a fab smokey eye. Again, the down fall of this brush comes to the precision of the tip of the brush. It does an ok job, but could be better. Definitely not as crappy as the SS219.

SS195- ♥♥♥♥♥- I love to use this brush to apply/blend out my paint pots, jumbo eye pencils, and eye primers. It's slightly larger than the SS194 and is angle cut on either side giving you a precise point on top. The way this brush is cut makes it much easier to apply your eyeshadow base/primer very close to the lash line which is great. This brush can also be used for concealer, but I just like it for the lid. Must have? Yes. I need of a second? Nope.

SS226- ♥♥♥- The MAC226 is the only MAC brush I have ever paid full price for. I usually get my MAC brushes from the CCO or from a lovely Specktrette. I just can't see paying full price for them. Weeell, I definitely don't regret paying full price for this one. The SS226 is good and does it's job well, but the MAC one is just better. The SS226 is not cut quite as precise (sharp) at the tip. I did a comparison review for this one already so take a look at the pics there to see what I mean. The SS226 is a good brush to have and no you don't need both of them. Since the MAC226 was a Limited Edition brush the asking price for it it ridiculous now. So, please don't pay the outrageous price for this brush on e-bay or anywhere else. The Sigma one will do a good job. I just prefer the MAC226.

SS212- ♥♥♥♥♥- This is the key to tight lining your upper waterline. Even my shaky hands can do it with this brush.

SS214- ♥♥♥♥- It's a good smudger, but seems a tad scratchy to me.

SS210- ♥♥♥♥♥- Everyone needs this brush or a brush like this...can we say "winged eyeliner". This is a must have for a successful winged eyeliner look. I was having so much trouble perfecting mine with just the MAC266, it is just to big to do a detailed wing look. Now, it's all good, the color goes exactly where you put it. I don't have a MAC210 to compare this one to, but this one is great.
* Update: Oooow Laa La, Double Winged eyeliner...even better.

SS316- ♥♥♥♥♥- It does the job and is great to carry in your purse, because it's all covered up. I like it. What more can I say.

♥♥♥♥- Overall, I think that both sets are definitely worth the price you pay. Although, a few of the brushes are not as precisely cut as they should be and some are way to big to be as useful as I would like them to be. I do wish that Sigma would have included a SS109, SS116, SS242, and SS272, but since I don't run the company I guess you just get what you get and you don't throw a fit. I do think that these are great sets and I am looking forward to buying more of the Sigma brushes that I think are winners. However, since I already have both sets I will be looking to purchase individual brushes from Sigma or who ever else has them for sale individually. Love it!!

** 5/11/10 A note to Sigma! lol ** I'm not sure who cuts your brushes such as the SS219, SS222, SS165, SS138, but you need to fire them. The SS219 is absolutely horrible. Also, check this site out...ACW they are stealing your revenue because they are smart enough to break up your brush sets and sell them individually for a little more than they would each cost in the set. Take a hint from them and make money on your own products instead of letting others take your business. Frankly, I like your company and customer service much better. For now, I am off to make my order for the individual SS168, SS217, SS266, and SS252 with ACW. Even though, I think that they are highway robbers when it comes to the MAC products they sell. They have what I want when it comes to Sigma individual brushes and the price is not bad. So, I'll be putting it in my cart and checking them out.

♥ Eyeshadow: MAC However, I don't buy most of the lusters, shity texture & color pay off ; NYX Runway & Carribean Collection Palettes only. I don't like the singles b/c of the shape of the packaging, but I've heard that the texture is nice as well as the pigmentation, nor the trios b/c the texture sucks! I also like the Coastal Scents 88 palettes. I've tried the Warm & Shimmer ones and they are great for the price.

♥ Lipstick/Lipgloss: Whatever catches my eye. I try to only buy drugstore ones, b/c I'm addicted to them so much it would cost me a small fortune if I bought all of them for department store prices, but I have tried several of the MAC ones and they're very nice.

♥ Nail Polish: OPI, Essie, China Glaze. For a trendy color that I won't use much more than a season. I like to use Sinful Colors polishes. I also like to Franken with the Sinful Colors polishes. Sooo fun!

♥ Brushes: Sigma. Yes, Sigma. I love them. I will continue to buy the LE FULLSIZE MAC brushes as they are released, but as far as a regular line, everyday use brush, it's Sigma. I do not use the MAC SE brushes at all. I have drugstore brushes that imo, are better quality than the MAC SE ones. See my full review post for more details.
